Provides influenza vaccine according to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), flu shots will be available when the vaccine arrives (usually in September of each year). Flu shots are given in the clinic on a daily basis. Special evening hours are observed to assist those persons unable to visit the clinic during regular business hours. Pneumonia shots are given daily at the clinic. A physician order is not necessary. Rambo Memorial Health Center partners with some Medicare plans. Call our office to inquire if your Medicare is one of them.
KCHD now offers travel vaccinations and Pneumococcal Pneumonia Immunizations. It's important to get vaccinated at least four to six weeks before traveling. This will give the vaccines time to start working, and provide protection while traveling and also ensures there's enough time to get vaccines that require more than one dose. Among the vaccines offered to local travelers are those for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, tetanus, typhoid, malaria, polio, meningitis, Japanese encephalitis and rabies. One vaccine that won't be available locally anytime soon is the one for yellow fever which is in short supply due to an outbreak in South America, but KCHD has information on other clinics in Ohio where the vaccine is available.
