Columbus Humane is a private, nonprofit focused on supporting the bond between pets and their people, so prices are at or below our costs. The Columbus Humane Essential Care Center serves pet families who love their pets and struggle to afford care at traditional veterinary clinics. Wellness and sick/injured care services are at fixed prices, so clients know exactly what to expect up-front.

Offers low cost vaccination clinic.

Provides spaying or neutering of companion animals.

Provides medical check up, vaccinations and microchip implant for dogs of low income families.

Assists clients in taking care of their pets, while maintaining independence. The program provides pet food and assists with the financial cost of vet visits.

The TRN program works with identified colony caregivers (people feeding and looking after stray/feral cats in the community) to trap and fix unowned cats as a way to minimize their population humanely. TNR clinics are held monthly but by invitation only--meaning they need to have completed orientation as a colony caregiver with the program before they can bring cats to a TNR clinic. Volunteers are available to help with trapping the cats (traps are available to borrow as well). Cats receive rabies vaccines as well as deworming, flea treatment and basic medical care for obvious injuries/problems while they're sedated for surgery. Their ears are tipped so that they can be easily identified as a 'fixed' feral. The program works strictly by donation.

Enforces all humane and cruelty laws; provides an adoption center for unwanted pets; provides housing/care for stray cats and emergency aid for injured or abandoned animals; offers humane education to the community; offers pet therapy to patients in nursing homes and hospitals.

Offers low cost spay and neuter surgery for cats and dogs.

Offers low cost vaccinations for dogs and cats approximately 50 out of 52 Fridays per year. You may call ahead to confirm.

Maintains an animal shelter and provides animal services including animal control, animal rescue, animal poison information, and investigations of cruelty to animals. Offers shelter animals for adoption, maintains lists of lost animals, and provides humane animal traps. Animal control picks up dead animals on public property. Can provide wild animal assistance, injured or sick. Handles domestic animal complaints as well as the enforcement of City animal ordinances. Receives animal bite reports and quarantine procedures.Recieves animal Bite reports and quarantine procedures.

Maintains lists of animal hospitals and individual veterinarians and links pet owners with veterinary care providers who can meet their needs.

Provides animal control, animal rescue, and animal poison information. Maintains an animal shelter where stray animals may stay for three to five days. Does not trap nuisance animals contained within a home.

Provides low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for pet, feral, and semi-feral cats.

Provides animal euthanasia services for animals that are of advanced age, sick, injured.

Provides euthanasia services for dogs who are of advanced age, sick or injured.

Provides financial assistance, resources, and emotional support for pet guardians struggling with economic hardship when pets are in life-threatening situations. Typical grant is about $250.

Low cost spay and neuter service for dogs and cats.

Provides care for unwanted pets and stray animals in a no-kill shelter. Offers dogs and cats for adoption. Veterinary services such as vaccines, spay/neuter and microchipping available.

Provides volunteer training and opportunities for adults in the areas: fund-raising, pet socialize, dog and/or cat foster, special events, dog trainer, pet facilitated therapy worker, vet check worker, display worker, telephone counselor, office assistant, and dog and cat kenneler.

Provides accessible veterinary care. Services include: routine wellness exams; spay/neuter surgery; vaccinations and routine testing; and dentistry and general surgery. Also provides humane euthanasia services.
