Provides information for home/property owners and businesses in or looking to locate in the service area. Works to assist property owners in maintaining property in compliance with building codes. Recruits businesses to locate in area. Assistance may include explanations of building code violations and possible remediation options for property/business owners, marketing of available business properties, and opportunities to develop leadership skills for local residents.

Provides leadership training and development through several programs for potential future leaders of Northeast Ohio. Classes focus on examining diversity in the community, developing and practicing leadership skills, and creating a network among participants, and may include individual leadership assessments, small group discussion, presentations from community leaders, engagement in team projects, and review of best practices in leadership across sectors. Offers a variety of programs suited to the needs of person based on their goals, interests education and/or career.

Provides a variety of programs to foster leadership development for youth. Groups take part in activities to promote positive behaviors, better health, educational achievement, and encourage a life-long commitment to community service. Includes a robotics competition, leaders clubs, and service trips.

Offers a 9-month program to improve leadership and interpersonal communication skills. Provides information on Medina County and its opportunities for future leadership roles. Establishes contacts with students in other schools in a non-competitive environment.

Provides tutoring, field trips, homework help, recreation, and access to computers for youth. Space is limited in this program.

Offers two coaching program focusing on life skills, service, leadership, and education. One program (From Me 2 U) is for high school aged youth and is offered in four formats: community-based, school-based, and residential. During Summer, the program partners with Youth Opportunities Unlimited, to add a workforce component. School-based learning allows participants to incorporate classroom skills into a safe community environment while developing team-building skills. Participants gain skills to help them identify as community members while fostering independence. Residential is designed to replace risky behaviors and activities with positive protective factors by improving decision-making and critical thinking skills, increasing engagement in drug-free activities, increasing participant's network of positive peer supports, and developing community awareness about prevention efforts. The other program (Becoming Me ) is for young adults in college and offers life coaching and internships.

The Ohio cooperative Extension Service, an educational outreach arm of the Ohio State University-OCES, conducts research-based and interests in agriculture and natural resources, community development, family strengths, nutrition, diet and health, and 4-H youth development and leadership. Service: 1. Educational information in agriculture, resource management, family life, nutrition and youth education. 2. Insect and pest identification 3. 4-H clubs and programs for youth 4. Programs and newsletters on various subject matters 5. Speakers for organizations, schools, etc. 6. Food and nutritional education program for limited income families - groups and individual teaching

Offers a civic leadership initiative designed to educate Akron’s youth about their government, community organizations and service-led projects. Participants will learn about Akron’s history and social issues, tour City facilities and get a behind-the scenes look at how city government works. Prepares area high school students to become positive role models, and allows them to build character and develop leadership skills through training and youth council meetings.

Provides participants with access to community leaders, hot-topic discussions, behind-the-scenes site tours, and interactive panel interviews across all community sectors. This annual 10-month signature adult program emphasizes leadership development, and learning through experience and provides in-depth knowledge, tools, and the network to lead stronger organizations and better serve the community.

Local chapter members learn leadership skills and electoral practices by electing officers of the group. Monthly meetings are focused on topics related to disability advocacy and building self-advocacy skills. There are also monthly volunteering opportunities and regular social events to offer further connection to the community.

Offers a variety of enrichment opportunities for diverse pre-college populations. Offers Saturday enrichment for children and summer enrichment programs.

Provides a program that teaches youth about Geauga County, develops leadership skills, and encourages youth to serve their schools and be engaged in their communities. Encourages youth to be civically engaged and provides an opportunity for young people to have a voice in shaping the future of the community where they live.

Provides college students with programs designed to equip them with skills, practical work experience and insights necessary to become successful in business, technical and/or allied health careers. Services include mentoring and leadership development activities. The goal is placement in a job following graduation, preferably with the sponsoring business. Also provides a support group for the parents of participants, who meet to assist the development of their children, to further their own professional development, and to plan fundraising activities. There is also an active alumni group.

Six-month intensive training program to prepare racial/ethnic minorities and people in the LGBTQ+ community effective service on a non-profit board and/or committees. Consists of 10-12 regular sessions two to four hours in length. Sessions include governance and management, strategic planning, fundraising and resource development, fiscal management, parliamentary procedures/effective meetings and marketing/public relations.

Provides a structured after-school program with the focus of student expression, reflective leadership, community service, life and employment skills, academics, career awareness, and post-secondary education.

Provides a program for middle school youth. Participants are taught leadership skills, are trained to be peer tutors to primary students, and plan service projects for the community.

Offers a 9-month professional development leadership program that is designed to grow professional confidence, challenge participants to think differently, and learn new skills alongside a network of peers from across Medina County.

Provides a community leadership development program designed for current leaders to learn, connect, and involve themselves in Medina County. Provides useful information on topics such as health care and human services, education, and agriculture in the county. Participates as a class in a service project.

Provides tutoring in math, reading, and language arts, as well as other character development curricula. Learning Center promotes fluency in reading and comprehension of math concepts, while developing self-determination and self-pride in their studies. Offers classes in computer use and leadership development.Youth development programs include African drumming, anger management, and martial science. Capacity of the program is 65.

Introduces class members to challenges and opportunities unique to Geauga County. Participants gain personal access to community leaders, behind the scenes site tours, and in-depth discussions while gaining a deeper understanding of Geauga County. Class members expand their personal contacts and leverage these into a network of like-minded leaders. The Heritage Program inspires retirees and adults approaching retirement to reconnect to their community, encouraging their personal action to be part of the positive solution to some of Geauga County’s challenges. Each person’s overall experience is enhanced by the identification and achievement of personal goals in conjunction with individual efforts supporting the greater good of the county.
