The Family and Consumer Sciences program in Clark County strives to build strong families through educational programming. Programs focus on nutrition and lifestyle choices from infancy through retirement; managing time, money, and other resources; community health and environmental concerns; and managing the multiple roles of work and family life. These issues are addressed through programs offered in the community, newsletters offering information on these specific issues, and information offered via new technologies, such as the website.

Nutrition education program serving participants and low-income individuals eligible to receive SNAP benefits. Program topics include healthy food choices, portion sizes, stretching food dollars, food shopping, food safety, and physical activity.

Teaches food service workers to cook and serve low-fat low-cholesterol meals.

Provides instruction that deals with the basic activities of homemaking. Including caring for and managing children, planning, shopping for and preparing nutritious meals, maintaining a clean and safe living environment, and other in-home responsibilities.
