Function and Purpose: The Ohio cooperative Extension Service, an educational outreach arm of the Ohio State University-OCES, conducts research-based and interests in agriculture & natural resources, community development, family strengths, nutrition, diet and health and 4-H youth development and leadership. Service: 1. Educational information in agriculture, resource management, family life, nutrition and youth education. 2. Insect and pest identification 3. 4-H clubs and programs for youth 4. Programs and newsletters on various subject matters 5. Speakers for organizations, schools, etc. 6. Food and nutritional eduction program for limited income families - groups and individual teaching

Provides a variety of summer programs for all ages.
Provides a county 4-H Community Club and youth take at least one 4-H project throughout the year. There are over 200 projects to choose from.
Offers a wide variety of recreational activities including Adult Sports, Aquatics, Gymnastics, Health & Fitness, Youth & Family programs and Youth Sports and welcomes people of all ages, genders, faiths, abilities, income levels and ethnic backgrounds.
An after school program that meets five days a week at Weinland Park Elementary School. The program is based on educational achievement and particular attention is given to math and reading. The program also focuses on personal development. Education Specialist address topics like violence prevention, health and wellness, teambuilding, and diversity.
Offers an enrichment program that includes art projects, mindfulness activities, fundamental educational skills, reading, writing, tutoring, mentoring, career and trade choices, life skills activities, and awareness and prevention programs.

Provides girls the opportunity to experience physical, mental, and emotional growth through participation in a variety of sports (including basketball, running, biking and walking) and academic enrichment community projects. The academic piece has a main focus of critically thinking.

The HFF Dowd Education Center provides social-emotional learning opportunities for children in grades K-8. The Center has afterschool and summer programs that provide both education and interventions that support Ohio Department of Education standards and local school curriculum. Other activities provided to enhance social skills, self-esteem and overall health include: homemade nutritious meals daily; fitness and recreation activities; field trips; and presentations from outside agencies that support education and well-being.
