Community Mercy Hospice is a physician-directed program that addresses the medical, spiritual , emotional and social needs of the terminally ill and their families. Hospice aims to enrich the patient's remaining months of life, emphasizing control of pain and symptoms in the warmth and familiarity of home, surrounded by the comfort of family and friends. Community Mercy Hospice is licensed by the State of Ohio and certified by Medicare. A wide range of program services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and other health insurance plans.

The L.O.S.S. (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors)Team is sanctioned to be called to the scene of a death by suicide and serve as mentors and support for the survivors. Volunteers that are interested in training for team membership are welcome.

The Mid-Ohio Traumatic Loss Response Team offers multiple volunteer opportunities, to ensure that support is available: volunteer advocates offer support as soon as possible after the event, peer support volunteers with lived experience meet with survivors, an annual memorial event is held, volunteers are provided opportunities to educate volunteers and community members on grief and loss, bereavement specialists offer a safe place for survivors to connecrt with other survivors. This program will train peer mentors to provide support and companionship to people immediately after the loss of a loved one to suicide or accidental overdose. Research shows that postvention services decrease trauma responses and aides in the healing process. The Response Team is looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers to receive training and provide follow up and outreach to individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide or overdose. Volunteers can be lay people, clergy, community members, or individuals who have themselves experienced loss. Volunteers who intend to serve on a regular basis must be at least 18 years old, attend an orientation and training, and undergo a background check. Training will be provided and no previous experience is required. You can bring hope to the grieving by offering compassionate support in a variety of ways: - On call support - Peer Support - Follow up calls - Community Outreach - Data Management - Administrative Support - First responder.
Provides text line for Crisis Counselors that answer texts from people in crisis, bringing them from a hot moment to a cool calm through active listening, collaborative problem solving, and safety planning.
