The Compeer program invites people in Licking County that experience severe and persistent mental health issues to become members. The program's objectives include decreasing the isolation of individuals in the community who experience severe and persistent mental illness through social inclusion; supporting and educating program participants about available community resources and to assist them in achieving their personal goal(s); promoting community engagement and integration leading to social acceptance and esteem; providing community education about mental health; and educating participants about mental and physical health and wellness. It is through these focused efforts that the Compeer program works to reduce stigmatizing attitudes in the community.
