An eight bed, respite option for adults, ages eighteen and over, who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Miles House offers a less restrictive environment than psychiatric hospitalization, with a maximum length of stay of 16 days. Residents are encouraged to develop and utilize internal and external resources to help stabilize their crisis situation. Clients often find that temporary separation from their natural environment results in stabilization and resolution of the problem. Referrals to Miles House are accepted from area hospitals, community professionals, mental health centers, Netcare crisis sites and the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
