Crisis Stabilization Center provides alternatives to inpatient hospitalization in a managed care environment. The Center is a six-bed facility designed to provide an alternative to hospitalization and assist in the resolution of problems which are contributing to a person’s illness. The crisis center accepts people over the age of 18 who have psychiatric illnesses or emotional disturbances that make short-term intervention in a supportive setting necessary. People in crisis may stay in the program for a maximum of fourteen days, during which time they are assisted in making choices regarding future living arrangements, continued treatment, and other related issues. Services such a psychiatric consultation, nursing consultation, case management, and individual solution-focused therapy are provided during the consumer’s stay.
