Early Intervention is a program for children under the age of three who have a developmental delay or a diagnosis that puts them at a significant risk of developing a delay. There are new eligibility requirements for Help Me Grow Early Intervention:
- If you are referring a child with a medical diagnosis that impacts development, that child may already be eligible for HMG. We will contact the child's physician and request that required forms be completed. Early Intervention staff will complete an assessment to determine need for early intervention services.
- If you are referring a child you suspect may have a developmental delay, the early intervention staff will screen the child and if indicated, will evaluate him/her to determine eligibility and need for services. To be eligible for HMG, a child must have a 1.5 standard deviation below the mean in one or more of the developmental domains: adaptive, cognitive, communication, physical or social/emotional.
