Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. This course covers common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges, how to interact with a person in crisis, how to connect a person with help, and expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care.

Provides middle school, high school and college-level students with prevention and intervention tools in order to deal with issues of mental illness, drug use, underage drinking, impaired driving, traffic safety, and other destructive decisions.

Offers prevention and intervention services through recovery-focused resources and education. Works with a number of community partners to provide a network of recovery strategies for recovering and at-risk populations. Initiatives include: * Employer services * School-based education programs * Drug and alcohol prevention coalitions * Juvenile justice programs for at-risk youth * Reentry coalition for ex-offenders * Safe Communities coalitions * Speaker's Bureau on a variety of behavioral health topics * Recovery support networks * Housing and vocational assistance

Provides an 8-week course (2 hours/week) on recovery for individuals with mental illness who are interested in establishing and maintaining wellness. Participants gain an understanding of issues pertinent to their diagnoses and recovery. The course uses a combination of lectures, interactive exercises and structured group processes. Topics covered include: How to reach and stay in recovery; How to write an advance directive; Information about different diagnoses; How to deal with past and current problems.

Education course for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. Taught by trained leaders with lived experience. Program includes activities, discussions, and informative videos.

Provides a free 8 week session, education program for family, friends and significant others of adults with mental health conditions. NAMI Family to Family provides information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bio polar disorder and other mental health conditions.

Faith Mission's Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) helps and supports low-income veterans who are either at risk or homeless. This program focuses on preventing homelessness and ensures housing stability for veterans and their families within the community.

Offers programs to improve the public's understanding of mental health and mental illness. Helps people make choices which promote personal mental health, take advantage of opportunities for early detection, develop an awareness of available treatment options, and support their ability to deal with mental health problems when they arise.

MHA offers the national, evidence-based program Mental Health First Aid to teach the skills to respond to the signs of mental illness and substance use. Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 12-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidenced-based program. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition. NAMI Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there, and includes presentations, discussions and interactive exercises.

Provides comprehensive behavioral health care services to patients including medication management, counseling services and substance abuse treatment with medication assistance treatment.

Offers mental health education, information and resources for Bipolar Disorder.

Education program that informs the individual of the signs, symptoms, and self advocacy.

Provides an experiential learning program for people with any serious mental illness who are interested in establishing and maintaining their wellness and recovery. Consists of ten two-hour units and is taught by trained individuals who are personally experienced at living well with mental illness. Participants leave course with handouts, and advance directive, a relapse prevention plan, mindfulness exercises and survival skills for working with providers and the general public.

Provides interactive classroom presentations to help students recognize in themselves and others the signs of depression, bipolar disorder, and the warning signs of suicide. Provides information about how to obtain help from a mental health professional. Programs are delivered by trained professional instructors. Meets requirements of House Bill 123.

Education course for families of individuals with serious mental illness. Course is taught by trained family member. Discusses clinical treatment of mental illness and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively.

Workshops address self-care, problem solving, communication techniques and empathy. The biology of the brain, medications, recovery and rehabilitation are also explored.
