Providing grants, professional development, and networking opportunities for the ohio arts community.
The Arts Council brings to the county professionals in every arts discipline. It arranges concerts, performances, workshops, classes, and exhibits for the public including the elderly, handicapped, and economically disadvantaged. It develops special school and summer programming for children, a major focus of the Council since its founding. It encourages local artists in all fields, underwrites arts events for the community festivals and celebrations and provides incentives and recognition for arts achievement. Anyone who is interested may join, contribute, or participate. Countywide membership includes people of all ages and racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Provides grants for general operating support; provides scholarships;facilitates community cultural planning effort; serves as a clearinghouse for information about the cultural sector and produces an annual Guide to Arts & Culture in the Dayton Region. Provides technical assistance to individual artists and non-profit organizations who need help in an arts-related area.
