Constitutional/Civil Rights Group | National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People - Lima

Works to eliminate all forms of prejudice, whether based on race, sexual orientation, or gender. Seeks to resolve complaints related to civil rights discrimination and engages in advocacy, lobbying, organizing, voter enfranchisement, and protest. Does not provide legal service. Membership is available and offers an annual scholarship to a graduate of a Wayne County high school.

Provides advocacy and support to the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered) community. Also provides a mechanism to record hate crimes that have occurred in the service area as well as providing support, information, and referrals to appropriate services for victims of hate crimes. Supports the passage and enforcement of laws and other social measures that protect and promote the rights and interests of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender individuals, cross-dressers, and people who are in the process of coming out or who are questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity.
