The NAACP sponsors a variety of programs. Programs are designed to ensure civil rights compliance, equitable treatment of all Americans under law, the attainment of educational excellence, access to health care and economic empowerment.

Provides advocacy and crisis intervention for LGBTQ2+ survivors naviagte their healing and next steps.

Provides crime prevention and safety education services and offers security evaluations and vacation security checks.

Assesses the needs and resources for community child care programs. Consults with community leaders, organizations, and businesses on child care issues. Maintains up-to-date information on child care needs and resources and actively promotes legislation and initiatives to address key child care and early education issues.

Coordinates and provides supportive services to help young people who are facing housing instability and homelessness find or maintain stable housing. Also provides information and referral for employment assistance, mentoring, financial capability, and emergency financial assistance. The program is offered through peer Youth Navigators who use their personal experiences and knowledge of systems to support youth in accessing a variety of resources on their paths to stability.

Grassroots organization. Works to combat and overcome defamation and negative stereotyping of Arab-Americans. Promotes an objective portrayal of Arab history and culture in schools. Advocates for a balanced US Middle East policy. Services include; legal, student/voting rights, voting registration, education resources and outreach, English language learning, and helps Arab/ Muslim-Americans who've experienced hate crimes.

Provides information, education, advocacy, and workshops on a variety of topics designed to increase the public's awareness of the impact of pollution on the geographic area drained by Doan Brook.

Receives and acts on complaints regarding people labeled mentally ill or MR/DD concerning institutional or community practices/conditions; assures that detained institutionalized and discharged persons are informed of their rights; provides case advocacy and legal representation; monitors policies/procedures and all major incidents reported to Departments of Mental Health and MR/DD.

Works to protect and defend the civil rights of all persons. Concerned with eliminating racial discrimination and segregation from all aspects of American public life.

Addresses issues of generational poverty and children's success. Primarily focused on the southeast side of Springfield which includes two elementary schools and two middle schools. Springfield Promise Neighborhood builds assets in adults, youth, and in the community. Our summer and after school activities connect youth with mentors and with effective, evidence-based approaches to foster resilience in youth and help them practice the tools to be good people, make good choices, and give back to others. Our family engagement opportunities bring parents together frequently to promote positive parenting and build the skills necessary to be good citizens and neighbors. Our community development activities and multiple partnerships address the need for good nutrition and healthy activity, while providing the neighborhood a safe place to gather in a 1 acre urban community garden.

Provides programs that assist migrant workers in developing the knowledge and skills needed to enable them to make decisions regarding their job conditions, compensation and human rights; also provides assistance in meeting social and economic challenges and supporting the rights of the migrant worker; a mobile medical van provides basic medical services to migrant farm workers; provides immigration counseling, referrals to housing, transportation and food needs to immigrant populations.

Addresses the challenges of discrimination in senior service settings and provides an informal caregiving support network.

Provides a variety of services directed to educating the public about crime prevention. Community policing program includes activities for children such as sports, hobbies, and outings. Crime Prevention Officer is available to speak to interested groups. Encourages and assists neighborhoods to organize neighborhood associations, which meet to learn how to discourage preventable crime in their areas. Also has a program of stickers installed by the police which alert patrols to cars being driven at unusual hours which may have been stolen. Offers vacation security checks of homes for residents who are out of town. Sponsors a bike rodeo each year where children have bike safety tests, can ride a bike course, are fitted for helmets, etc.

Grief support group for adults. Facilitated by masters level social worker. Held in the library area of the Jewish Community Center.

Provides law enforcement and safety information for the Village of Newburgh Heights. Also provides a community policing officer who serves as a community liaison and maintains optimum relations between the police department and the larger community.

Provides advocacy for individuals with substance use issues and dealing with homelessness. Provides lunches to the homeless community in Akron.

By producing and hosting events, improving safety, creating and maintaining greenspace, fostering a presence of art, and working with new and existing businesses, we're building a street where people want to spend their time.

Works to build the West Hill neighborhood in Akron. Coordinates committees to monitor crime and safety issues, advocate for proper zoning, aids in creating green spaces that include small neighborhood parks and community garden spaces.

Provides a cultural/service club that seeks to improve the community through special projects and events. Particular focus is on promoting cultural diversity and awareness both outside and within the Asian Indian community.
