Functions as chief executives for Penfield Township at the local level and directs government activities.

Testing, inspecting and sealing of large and small scales, gasoline pumps, fuel oil delivery trucks, gas delivery trucks, and propane delivery trucks. Package checks of: pre-packaged meats, etc.; milk and cheese, etc; pre-packaged produce, etc; and dry goods, wire goods, and hardware. Respond to complaints of short weight and measurement.

Administers various services for the Village of Adelphi. Responds to complaints and problems dealing with the village.

Provides services for the City of Pepper Pike. Handles complaints about city services and offers information about the city and other government services. Holds City Council and Road and Safety/Finance and Planning Committee meetings.

Functions as chief executives for Carlisle Township at the local level and directs government activities.

Provides municipal services for Hiram Township.

Serves as a legislative body that creates ordinances, or local laws, and resolutions that express the will of the Council. Through these legislative tools, City Council guides how the city is governed.

As the principal executive organization of county government, the Board of Commissioners, along with its departments, is committed both to providing efficient government and to promoting the welfare and strategic development of the Athens County Community.

Serves as the chief administrative officer of the county. Responsible for general administration of county departments and services.

Records and maintains documents pertaining to land in Darke County, such as deeds for properties, easements, liens, durable power of attorneys, and DD-214 discharge papers for veterans. Note: Land record documents from May 1996 to the present are available online.

Provides a variety of taxpayer services for county residents including home valuation, homestead exemption relief, homebuyer information, weights and measures compliance, 2-1/2% property tax relief, processing of estate taxes, dog licenses, and vendors licenses. Can also review general estate tax information, discuss recent law changes and answer basic questions about filing. It is also the Auditor's responsibility to serve as the paymaster for the county employees.

Adopts a budget, sets health and safety ordinances and oversees programs and services.

Serves as chief executive administrator of the city. Addresses concerns and questions of the community along with staff of Mayor's office. Oversees City Council.

Provides county real estate property records, and an array of services such as real estate valuation, property transfers, weights and measures compliance, homestead exemption, rental registration, CAUV, dog licensing services, and manufactured homes registration to taxpayers, consumers, school districts and local governments. Also, the auditor's office maintains land records, parcel and tract information, and history of ownership records for Hamilton County.

Serves as the chief administrator for the City of North Royalton.

Functions as chief executives for Elyria Township at the local level and directs government activities.

Responsible for registering voters and administering, preparing, conducting and tallying, in a uniform and impartial manner, federal, state and county elections in accordance to state statutes.

Local government and administration office that handles services such as local zoning, utilities, and taxes.

Functions as chief executives for LaGrange Township at the local level and directs government activities.

Responsible for maintaining the financial records of the city, including general ledger records, and reporting the city’s financial position to the Auditor of State, City Council, the Mayor and other interested parties. The Auditor is also responsible for the accounting of fixed assets, payroll preparation along with pension fund and tax reporting, accounts payable, purchasing card management, and managing the city’s bonded and noted debt. The office performs internal audits of the various city departments to assure that proper accounting procedures are being followed.

Functions as chief executives for Henrietta Township at the local level and directs government activities.

Accepts filings of initial actions as well as pleading in pending and post decree actions for all Civil, Domestic Relations, and District Court of Appeals cases. Accepts all filing fees and posting of bonds in civil and divorce actions. Actions filed here include, but may not be limited to, civil actions, divorce complaints, annulment complaints, dissolution petitions, legal separations, child custody, child support, foreclosure complaints, quiet title, partition, appeals, motion to vacate and post decree motions, state tax liens and judgment liens. Criminal filings come to this office mainly through the Prosecutor's Office. Agency does not provide legal advice or forms for filing. Provides forms that enable eligible individuals to file a poverty affidavit which allows filers to file cases or documents without a deposit, but filer may be responsible for costs at the conclusion of their case. Poverty affidavits only apply to one case at a time. Also processes U.S. passport applications.
