Drug Take Back Day - Marion County | National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Take-Back Days: These occur twice a year and locations are offered in Marion and surrounding communities. Enables the safe disposal of unwanted and expired prescription and over the counter medications. Pills should be removed from bottles and placed in baggies. This is a great opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft. *Acceptable items for disposal are: - Expired or unused medications - Over-the-counter medicines - Vaping pens with removable batteries* - Vaping pen cartridges - Prescription drugs - Pills - Liquids - Syringes.

The Deterra Project: Preventing Prescription Medicine Abuse | Summit County Community Partnership

Provides pouches to be used for the safe disposal of outdated and unwanted medications. The pouches deactivate drugs and render the chemical compounds safe for landfills. Each bag can be used to dispose of 45 pills, 6 (six) ounces of liquid medication, or 6 (six) medicine patches.

Services | Liberty Township Police Department

Offer "Check In" program where seniors decide what time and day they will call and check in with the Police Department; "Elderly Call" program where senior is part of Police Department's daily call list. If call is missed in either program, an officer will either call senior or visit them to make sure everything is alright; and "Senior Watch" program where Police or a volunteer will visit senior once a week (or more) to check on their welfare.

Drop off any old, expired or unused medications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Drop Off Box is located in the lobby Please no liquids, injectables, or inhalers. Remove all pills from their original package and place into plastic bags for easy disposal.

Waste Management / Recycling | Darke County Solid Waste District

Provides and manages recycling drop-off sites and assists residents in finding alternative recycling resources. Operates recycling programs in area schools. Offers recycling and community clean-up events and hosts special events for electronic, pharmaceutical, and hazardous household waste collection, as well as used tire collection and document shredding. Investigates reports of illegal dumping, littering, and burning. Develops environmentally safe solid waste management plans to achieve Ohio's goals for waste reduction, recycling, and solid waste management in the region. Helps communities and businesses implement cost-effective and environmentally safe solid waste management practices. DOES NOT RECYCLE TELEVISIONS BUT GIVES REFERRALS TO AREA FOR-PROFITS THAT WILL RECYCLE THEM FOR A FEE.

Collects unwanted oil-based paint and other hazardous household chemicals such as kerosene, gasoline, lighter fluid, pesticides, herbicides, and caustic household cleaners. Does not accept latex paint.

Sustainability Program | Franklin County Public Health

The Sustainability Programs work to protect and maintain the natural environment, human health, and ecological health. It does this by working with partners such as SWACO and MORPC. These programs also minimize solid, infectious and hazardous waste in the community. It is also responsible for regulating and enforcing disposal of waste into approved facilities, including landfills. Investigates illegal dumping and environmental crimes.
