The Trotwood Police Department is a full service Municipal Law Enforcement Agency that provides police service 24/7 to the residents of the City of Trotwood.

Offers 24 hour emergency assistance to individuals affected by a disaster such as a home fire, tornado or flood. Services include opening shelters, providing meals and drinks and fulfilling emergency needs.

The agency is also charged with the establishment and updating of the County’s Emergency Operations Plan (E.O.P.). This document is a formal outline of emergency response to all types of emergencies / disasters.

In the event of any large-scale emergency or disaster, the EMA will open an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) within their facility. We work to develope emergency plans and help other agencies with developing their plans. We conduct exercises on a regular basis to test the plans we have developed. The agency communicates with all local, state, and federal agencies that may be utilized in the scope of duties performed by this agency when logistics and financial services are required for our county in a disaster or large-scale incident situation.

It is a function of government that coordinates the entire community's effort to minimize the impact of a disaster before it occurs. Plans are in place to coordinate the community's response to a disaster as well as rapid and complete recovery from the effects of a disaster.
