Provides referrals for short-term emotional support and problem solving assistance for individuals who are attempting to deal with their fears and other negative psychological after-effects of a major disaster or large-scale emergency that disrupts the normal functioning of a community. Counseling helps disaster victims cope with their losses, establish priorities for their immediate future, identify and work with psychological roadblocks and develop the positive skills they will need to feel in control of their lives and begin to recover.

Provides replacement funds to Food Assistance (food stamp) recipients who have lost food due to a power outage, fire or governor declared emergency. Replacement funds may replace up to (but not exceed) the client's monthly allotment of food assistance. Funds are sent by electronic transfer to the recipient's Ohio Direction Card.
Tries to anticipate what emergencies could be faced in Fairfield County and then develop plans to be able to respond to any threats to health and safety. Also provides resources and information to help individuals and families prepare for emergencies.
