Assists veterans and their dependents in filing claims for education, disaster claims information, burial, home loan guaranty, pension service connected disability, insurance, discharges, and medical benefits. Also provides emergency financial assistance for veterans and/or their dependents with proven need. May include (but is not limited to) financial assistance with prescriptions, transportation expenses, utilities, food, rent, mortgage, basic necessities, etc.

Coordinates post-disaster county-wide damage assessments and recovery operations for local jurisdictions. Connects with the state and federal government for additional county-wide resource needs. Advocates for government assistance to Franklin County residents for individual assistance and low interest loans for disaster relief.

Provides emergency financial assistance to Montgomery County resident veterans who qualify and establish a bona fide need for the following assistance: utilities (electric, gas and water) food (foodbank) mortgage or rent payment and burial benefits. Veterans may be able to receive up to $1,000 to go towards their insurance deductible for the tornado assistance.
