Many of our clients come to us with virtually nothing - sometimes without even a shirt on their back or a toothbrush. To help rebuild their lives and begin developing self-esteem, we must start with the very basics. Program funding provides treatment services but there isn't "extra" funding to support the most basic of needs. Alvis House is challenged to keep up with the growing demand for our programs and services and do the best we can to provide every individual with a few basic items. - Hangers - Plastic or Metal - Casual clothing for women - all sizes (gently used), pants, tops, etc. - Women's shoes - Outerwear for men or women (hats, gloves, scarves, coats) - Items to be used to reward clients for accomplishing their goals, such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion (name brands like Bath & Body or Axe for Men are treasures to our clients), deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nail polish, perfume, cologne, etc. - No longer used items such as exercise DVD's, modern books for men or women, magazines, electronic games, Wii, exercise equipment, yoga mats, kettle bells, etc. would be like GOLD to our clients. - Your time - to teach and exercise class, help a student working toward their GED, or practice interviewing skills , a variety of opportunities are available.

Accepts donations of food and new or gently-used clean clothing (including shoes, boots, hats, coats, and new underclothing and socks for all ages).

Accepts donations of new items only. Will take clothing for any age group, baby food and formula, frozen and non-perishable foods, bedding and linens, cleaning products, home and office furniture, home furnishings, kitchenware, mattresses, computers (with Windows XP or newer), general office supplies, personal care items, arts and crafts supplies, books and magazines (content must be rated G or PG), musical instruments (no organs or pianos), special event tickets, toys (nothing militant like G.I. Joe, toy guns, etc.), infant/child car seats, safety helmets, school supplies, household/gardening/work tools and equipment, and automobiles. Donated items are never resold.

Offers clothing and shoes for individuals in need. Available items depend on what has been donated and is on hand at any given time. Also accepts donations of clothing and shoes.

Accepts clothing and accessories only. No home goods or furniture accepted.

Accepts donations of new and arts and crafts supplies and plant and gardening materials. Donated items are not generally resold.

Provides food for those who need it. Food boxes include fresh produce, hygiene supplies and $5.00 voucher towards purchases at Springfield Goodwill Stores.

Receives unwanted reusable items from the general public, businesses, and organizations for distribution to social service organizations, schools, and visual and performing arts groups. Acceptable items (in good condition) include: construction materials, traditional and non-traditional art supplies, tools, and office furniture.

Offers furniture for individuals in need. Also accepts donations of furniture.

Provides a pantry of non-perishable food items, produce, dairy, baked goods, and meat. Items are pre-packaged and based on supply. * Pantry provided through donations and partnership with Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

ALL INTAKES 521-1071 Sheltered Inc., Norm's Place offers emergency shelter for families and single women and Hartley House shelters single men from the Springfield/Clark County area. Case management and specific assistance services are offered.

Offers loans on durable medical equipment including wheel chairs, walkers, bedside commodes, hospital beds. Lift chairs are no longer offered. Most everything is donated, so item availability varies. May occasionally have incontinence supplies and nutritional supplements. When items loaned are no longer needed, return of items is required. Always in need of new donations.

Accepts donations of non-perishable food, adult clothing, children's clothing, school clothing, winter clothing (coats, hats, gloves, and boots), pots, pans, dishes, linens, other household goods, furniture, and gift cards.

Accepts donations of new and used art supplies, office supplies and school supplies, and items for youth, including new and used musical instruments in working condition. Does not accept pianos. Will also accept tickets to special events.

Accepts a wide range of donations such as outright cash donations, gifts-in-kinds, capital funding, grants, matching gifts, major gifts, sponsorships, planned giving, and more.

Offers food once a week and clothing for all sizes. These are open to individuals who have registered for HELP House services; some outreaches may require an additional registration process (for example, number of children needing Christmas presents, etc.)

Provides guidance and interaction, recreation, socialization, the arts, field trips and events.

Drop-off location for donated items for Thrift Store

Accepts donations by appointment (call 419-241-9131) of new or gently used baby clothes (up to size 3T and within last 3 years), diapers, baby wash, baby shampoo, baby lotion, and other baby items.

Provides pantry staples and meat (limited dairy products and fresh produce occasionally available), in addition to limited personal hygiene products to families once per month. Food provided equals approximately 3-4 days worth of meals.

Accepts a wide range of donations, including laundry detergent, personal grooming supplies (such as hotel-sized shampoo and lotion), coats, hats, gloves and scarves, blankets, towels, sheets, pillows and pillowcases, and meat and canned food.

Accepts donations of clothing, household items, linens, functioning small appliances and electronic devices, and toys. Donated items are re-sold at minimal prices through the agency's thrift stores. Donation pick-up may be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Offer credentialing opportunities, with curriculum partner New Collar Network, in 3D printing technologies to students in an 18-week experience in preparation for the workforce. Family Support Specialist collaborates with community organizations throughout the Mahoning Valley to assist young women and their families before, during and after pregnancy with food, transportation, clothing, diapers, medical appointment scheduling/follow up, essential needs and employment.

Donate your vehicle to Goodwill and get a tax deduction for the gross proceeds received from the sale of the vehicle or $500, whichever is greater. Call Licking/Knox Goodwill’s Used Car Lot at 740-345-4749 to discuss a free pickup of your donated vehicle. The Used Car Lot is also a great place to shop for your next vehicle.

Accepts donations of pet food and other items for pets, including food for cats, dogs, birds, guinea pigs and hamsters, as well as cat litter, big plastic containers, freezer bags, and 5 gallon bags. Accepts sealed and opened bags of pet food items and dented cans. Will accept other pet items such as leashes, crates, and pet toys.
