Street Outreach Services | Northeast Ohio Coalition For The Homeless

Works to coordinate planning to address the problem of homelessness, and studies proposed solutions, including recommendations of outreach workers and the homeless themselves. Speakers And Workshops - Labor Issues | United Labor Agency

Provides speakers on labor issues for union and retiree meetings, and other organizations or events. Also speakers are available during the United Way campaign to assist local unions with their solicitations. In addition, offers workshops to train volunteer employees to be "UCAN (Union Community Activist Network) activists" for their respective places of employment. The training is related to issues of concern that may arise in the work place. The workshops can also be designed for a specific local union membership to attend at their own union hall.

Topics include watershed awareness, rain garden creation, water quality, non point source pollution, storm water pollution and management, and erosion and sediment control regulations. Provides brochures, fact sheets, a newsletter (On the Land), and an e-news letter to inform the public on these issues.

Provides supplemental food card that includes staple foods, fruits and vegetables; nutrition education; breastfeeding education; support and counseling; and referral services to eligible women and children. During the summer also provides a one-time $30 supplemental voucher to a limited number of participants for fruits and vegetables from selected local growers (Farmers' Market Nutrition Program), available while supplies last. Also offers speakers who discuss the program and the value of good nutrition.
