Street Outreach Services | Northeast Ohio Coalition For The Homeless

Works to coordinate planning to address the problem of homelessness, and studies proposed solutions, including recommendations of outreach workers and the homeless themselves. Available to make presentations to community groups regarding homelessness, often with a homeless or formerly homeless person participating in the presentation. Hosts regular meetings with homeless people to inform advocacy position. Publishes regular updates on public policy issues.

Wic (WOMEN, INFANTS, CHILDREN) | Darke County Wic

Provides supplemental food vouchers ("nutrition cards," similar to EBT or debit cards), nutrition education, counseling, support and referral services to eligible women, children, fathers, and kinship caregivers. Nursing mothers are provided with information and education on breastfeeding. Also offers speakers who discuss the program and the value of good nutrition and breastfeeding. During the summer also provides a supplemental voucher to each client for fruits and vegetables from selected local growers (Farmers' Market Nutrition Program). These are available while supplies last.

Education And Public Outreach - Schoolchildren | Darke Soil And Water Conservation District

Will tailor presentations to specific curricular needs. Helps plan, organize, and implement additional activities and events covering many conservation-related topics. Can also arrange for student field trips to local stream and provide equipment to test water quality in them. An in-class presentation on macro invertebrates is also available to help prep students for this adventure.
