Trained Community Health workers stationed in high need areas of the city, work with clients in their communities to provide access to services to help achieve better birth outcomes for infants. Current focus areas include referrals to home visiting programs, smoking cessation, access to prenatal care, long acting reversable contraceptives (LARCs), safe sleep for infants and social supports such as rent, food insecurity and utility assistance.

Offering preschool stotry time for children. Activities include stories, songs, finger plays, creative dramatics, and crafts based on a weekly theme. Preschool Story Time often provides a child’s first independent learning experience in a group of children. Parents and guardians should contact the library where they are interested in attending for more information and to register.

Offers eye examination through participating optometrists at no charge to infants under the age of 1 year old.

Free eye exams for infants six to 12 months.

Provides free infant, baby and toddler items including clothing, shoes, blankets, diapers, baby formula, baby food and bottles to mothers and expectant mothers in need. Also provides maternity clothes. Call first to verify supplies of non-clothing items.
