Operates a toll-free cancer information hotline and online live chat to answer questions about cancer. Cancer information specialists have access to comprehensive, accurate information on a range of cancer topics, including the most recent advances in cancer treatment. Specialists cannot answer personal medical questions, make referrals to specific doctors or institutions, or give medical advice. The service is confidential, and information specialists spend as much time as needed for thorough and personalized responses.

Provides wigs at no cost to women with cancer related hair loss.

Provides free housing to any adult who has come to Cleveland to receive cancer treatment or related procedures at a local care provider. Patients may stay as long as treatment continues. Each room has two double beds, so up to three family members/caregivers may stay with the patient free of charge. Cooking facilities are provided, but residents must provide food. Free laundry facilities available.

Provides support and education for families who have children with Down syndrome.

Provides assistance dealing with trauma in a variety of ways. Services may include counseling, advocacy, support groups (peer led), peer to peer support, and other services, depending on the trauma experienced. Helps with navigating compensation services for those eligible for assistance through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) .Provides trauma-focused counseling staffed by a social work professional for crime victims as well as social work care coordination.

Memory Care communities, which include Alzheimer’s care and Dementia care facilities, consist of specially designed living spaces and supporting environments for those who are living with cognitive challenges brought on by Alzheimer’s care and dementia. These may include carefully considered flooring to reduce problematic patterns for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia and wall colors that help them to find the way. The dementia care environment helps cue its residents in their daily lives. Areas of the community are set up for safe engagement in activities such as gardening, kitchen work, and other life skills that provide purposeful and meaningful successful moments.

Provides monthly educational webinars to raise awareness, understanding, and acceptance of autism. Professionals and parent panels explore topics that are relevant to parents, professionals, and individuals living with autism spectrum disorder.

Provides HUD subsidized apartment housing for individuals with developmental disabilities who are low income and able to live independently.

Provides a comprehensive breast cancer early detection program. Services include breast health education, referrals to (and transportation to) free or low-cost breast exams and mammograms, breast cancer support group, and case management for individuals who have an abnormal mammogram report or a diagnosis of breast cancer.

Caring Santa provides a calm and welcoming environment for children with special needs and their families to visit Santa. Special Elves from the Autism Society of Greater Akron will be on hand to greet participants when they arrive and to provide crafts and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Light refreshments will be served.

Offers free literature and books about diabetes are available to patients and their families. Will also advise individuals on employment issues, health insurance coverage, legal rights, and other similar issues. Will provide referrals to various community resources.

Provides assessments and, if indicated, treatment for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Recommendations may include medication, skills training and coaching and help managing behavior in a variety of life settings.

Legal services are provided during legal clinics. Referrals to community attorneys who offer pro bono or discounted services are also given.

Provides home repair grants of up to $2,500 and free exterior paint to help residents correct exterior housing code violations. Homeowner must match 10% of the repair costs. Program does not offer any emergency funds.

Offers support and education to adults with diabetes and their families.

Education course for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. Taught by trained leaders with lived experience. Program includes activities, discussions, and informative videos.

Provide help and information to people and families affected by anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. Offer helpline, online support, education/prevention, referrals to treatment options, support groups and resources.

Provides consumers with a listing of privately owned and managed multi-family buildings that are approved to receive subsidy from HUD. The list covers all counties in the jurisdiction, and includes the address, the property manager to contact, and a summary of each property. A list of subsidized buildings specifically for older adults age 62 and older (elderly apartments) is also available, and is also suitable for persons who are under the age of 62 and disabled.

Offers individual and group counseling to those whose lives have been affected by their own or a loved one's use or abuse of drugs or alcohol. Provides assessement for drug use disorder as well as mental health issues. Offers psychiatric counseling. Offers dual diagnosis services for those with mental health concerns and substance abuse issues. Peer Recovery Support may also be part of the program.

Evaluates patients with communication disorders (those who have never spoken or who have lost their ability to speak) and devises augmentative communication systems that may include computers, accessing equipment, adaptive switches, environmental controls, and clinical software. Each system is personalized to fit the user's communication needs and physical abilities. Service includes a lending library of devices that patients may borrow to try before ordering.

Provides screening and evaluations for hearing, speech, and language, and audiological evaluations. Speech and language therapy, hearing evaluations, and hearing and speech aids vary per site.

Provides up-to-date information from leading experts in oncology through free, one-hour workshops over the telephone.

Provides long-term residential services for adults whose primary diagnosis is a developmental disability and who may have other multiple handicapped conditions. Offers comprehensive training and support programs.

Offers in- and out-of-home respite care for individuals who are developmentally disabled. Care can be for a matter of hours or days. Limits on the number of times service is provided will vary with the case. If families choose a relative or friend to provide care, this caregiver will be paid by the agency.
