Provides a wide range of programs for children who are victims of abuse or other acts of violence. Services include the following: forensic interviews at a child-friendly site where professionals conduct joint investigative interviews with child victims, crisis counseling and case management for victims and non-offending family members (available to children and families at all stages of the investigation and prosecution process). The program helps children and families cope and heal emotionally, animal-assisted therapy support for victims of violence. Provides practical information and support to the children and family about the investigation and court process, safety education that teaches young children about safe and unsafe touches and ways to seek help from trusted adults, and also provides on-site medical exams.

Provides crisis counseling & emotional support to anyone experiencing distress or other behavioral health concerns related to natural or human-caused disasters. Professional counselors assist with persistent anxiety, feelings of fear, frustration or helplessness, and other depression-like symptoms. Offers information on common stress reactions and healthy coping skills, as well as referrals to local disaster-related resources for follow-up care and support.

Outreach program providing counseling/case management and essential services enabling eligible individuals to live independently in the community. Services may include care coordination, counseling/case management, assistance with filing reparations and/or pension claims; financial assistance due to eligible individuals; and personal care/light housekeeping. Volunteers are specially trained to provide social companionship to survivors. Also provides an opportunity to gather and socialize, to celebrate Jewish holidays, and to attend arts and cultural programming on a regular basis.

Provides legal services for low-income victims of domestic violence. Services include divorce assistance and assistance with custody/visitation issues for recent victims of domestic violence. Will also assist in filing for those who are seeking a Civil Protection Order (CPO) and/or provide representation regarding necessary CPO court hearings.

Provides bicycles, bike classes, bike repair, and essential bicycling equipment such as helmets, locks, and lights for eligible individuals.

Explains the legal aspects of rape and assault (but does not give legal advice), facilitates communication between client and other parties such as police and the courts, helps clients write Victim Impact Statements, and assists with dealing with the Ohio Parole Board. Helps clients access programs for victims of crimes in the State of Ohio and makes referrals to lawyers. Provides a Victim Assistance website and live chat which provides referrals to service providers, rather than direct service. NOTE: NOVA does not provide case management services, representation, financial assistance or legal advice to victims of crime.

Provides a sober living facility for recovery from addiction. Program involves intensive group work while living with others who are experiencing addiction and attendance at AA meetings within the community, participation in group, family, and couples counseling is expected. Capacity is 20. Food and toiletries are provided.

Assistance with Protection Orders, court appearances, police reports, and related issues; court accompaniment, and assisted through the legal system on varying issues (filing charges, etc.) responds 24/7 to Hospital and provides Rapid Response to law enforcement as requested.

Provides a therapeutic group for children, ages 5 to 12 years old, who have witnessed domestic violence. Also provides education and identification of feelings. Must register before attending group and parents/guardian must attend the Healthy Homes program at the same time.

Provides 24/7 hotline and hospital response for victims of sexual violence and human trafficking. Services also include information and referrals to area services, supportive services, therapy and intensive wrap-around case management services.

Assist survivor/victims of domestic violence, rape and sexual assault and human trafficking with information and support to navigate the legal and justice systems, safety planning, and barrier reduction. Assistance with Protection Orders, court appearances, police reports, and related issues; court accompaniment, and assisted through the legal system on varying issues (filing charges, etc.) responds 24/7 to Hospital and provides Rapid Response to law enforcement as requested.

Provides access to services for survivors of human trafficking. Services include individual counseling, case management, and assistance for survivors who are considering legal options, support groups, and specialized programming. Services include access to laundry facilities, showers, a lounge, computer access, job search assistance, a kitchen with food and more.

Offers information and referral services to crime victims, especially victims of family violence, stalking and sexual assault. Provides information on best practices for programs serving family violence survivors.

Provides education regarding the effects on children of witnessing violence and substance abuse, as well as parenting skill development for those with children in these situations. Topics include the impact of violence on child development, characteristics of children who have witnessed violence, family roles, effective discipline, and communication skills. Child care is currently available during classes due to COVID 19. Class meets requirements of local justice systems, county children services agency, hospitals, health centers, and schools. Class is taught by a licensed therapist and is limited to 10 participants.

Provides customer assistance in securing and maintaining electric power, billing concerns, resolving power outages, complaints, and other necessary services.

Provides support groups that are facilitated by agency professional staff for women who want to explore and deal with their domestic violence issues. Child care is available at certain locations.
