Offers medical certifications to delay disconnection for those with medical conditions who require electricity to maintain their health. Individuals must request a medical certification form from AEP and have the physician complete it. Also provides third party notices.

In 2020, the Licking County Health Department (LCHD) was one of 22 counties in Ohio to receive the Creating Healthy Communities (CHC) grant for a 5-year cycle from 2020-2024. The grant funding comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant which aims to prevent and reduce chronic disease throughout the state of Ohio. These funds are administrated by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).

Provides speakers on health insurance topics relevant to seniors. Topics may include, but not limited to, Medicare, Medicare Supplement Insurance, long-term care insurance, Medicaid, other health insurance, accessing health insurance benefits, and Medicare prescription drug programs.

Coordinates care to help older adults who are in need of long term in-home health care care to remain in their home and avoid frequent hospitalizations or nursing home placement. Works with the patient, their family, and medical service providers to meet the individual needs of the patient and help them to remain as independent as possible. Agency can provide in home nursing care as well as in home health aid services, but will work with outside agencies based on the client's preference. Transportation to adult day care is provided. Dental care, vision care, respite care, rehabilitation services and hospice care can be provided by the agency as needed. If a participant needs any Durable Medical Equipment, such as a wheelchair or a lift chair, that equipment is ordered, delivered, and installed free of charge.

Offers a non-commercial health website, with information created and evaluated by Case Western Reserve University, The Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati Medical Schools. It features easy to understand information on hundreds of health topics, current health news, and allows people to ask health-related questions of a medical professional. Over 325 academic medical and research professionals from the partner universities donate their time by writing articles on health topics, and by answering visitors' questions via the site's Ask an Expert feature.

A telephone-based coaching and support program for persons with chronic health condition(s) and their family and friends who care for them. Services provided include assessment to help families identify the type of help they need, steps to help them address their concerns, education, and ongoing emotional support. Those who participate receive regular check ins with staff who provide follow up on plans and suggestions for actions to take to manage the situation.

Conducts medical and health research at a number of campuses across the country and funds research at outside institutions. Also conducts clinical trials and distributes information about all government funded and private trials that are currently taking place in the United States.

Provides Certified Community Health Workers who conduct intensive community service navigation, involving assisting clients to enroll in Medicaid and connecting them with medical, mental health, dental, vision care, substance abuse, and other necessary social service resources.
