Provides counseling services for a variety of mental health conditions including but not limited to: Depression, Anxiety disorders, Bipolar and other mood disorders, PTSD and trauma issues, Grief and loss, Interpersonal conflict/relationship issues, ADHD and Childhood behavioral issues. The outpatient treatment staff consists of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers and Counselors, Psychiatric Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Mental Health Technicians.

Program is designed to develop workforce skills in unemployed, low-income older adults age 55 and older with poor employment prospects. Program participants are assigned to paid community service placements with a non-profit organization or governmental entity for purposes of training and acquisition or improvement of skills that may lead to unsubsidized employment or a job that is not subsidized by the program. In collaboration with the participant, the program must develop an Individual Employment Plan, which outlines steps for achieving goals as determined through personal interviews and assessment instruments. Participants may be offered supportive services such as transportation, counseling, work equipment and other items to assist them in participating in the SCSEP and preparing them for a permanent job.

Provides remedial education for students struggling with reading, math, and other basic skills.

Accepts donations of new and lightly-used office furniture and equipment. Accepts new, unused personal grooming and household cleaning products (disinfectant solutions.) Donated items are never resold.

Estate administration involves the court overseeing transfer of a decedent’s probatable assets to his beneficiaries and heirs. The court accomplishes this task by appointing a fiduciary, either an executor or an administrator, who collects the assets, pays any outstanding debts and then distributes the remaining assets to those who are entitled to receive them. The court supervises the actions of the fiduciary by requiring a bond, when necessary, and the filing of various documents, including an inventory and an accounting.

Medicaid provides medical insurance coverage to low income people age 65 or over, blind, disabled, pregnant or members of families with dependent children. There are many types of Medicaid, including: Medicaid for aged (65 or over), blind, or disabled people, Healthy Start/Healthy Families Medicaid, for income eligible pregnant women, children and families, Nursing Home Medicaid, with special rules for people in nursing homes, Waiver Medicaid, with in-home nursing assistance and other services to elderly or disabled people who would otherwise be in a nursing home. Medicaid benefits require an annual renewal, which will impact the new enrollees for the first time this year. Medicaid recipients may contact JFS for information on their annual renewal.

Provides police officers trained to assess and resolve the immediate emergency crisis involving individuals with mental health issues. Links the person with appropriate resources for ongoing assistance.

If you or a member of your household has a serious medical condition, a Medical Certificate can delay the disconnection of service for 30 days. Columbia Gas will fax a form to your licensed health care professional, who must complete, sign and return it to us before the shut-off date. Initial certification may be made by telephone if written notice is received within seven days. If gas service has been disconnected, they must receive the form within 21 days of shut-off to restore service. The Medical Certificate may be used to delay shut-off no more than three times during a 12-month period.

Offers recreational activities for people with physical, sensory, or developmental disabilities in conjunction with local schools.

An affiliate group within the Center (separate from Center membership) that provides community education about psychoanalysis and the influence of psychoanalytic thought on the arts and humanities. Offers regular workshops, and discussions of films and plays for members. Sponsors free public lectures on various subjects relating to psychoanalysis. Assists in fund raising to support the Center.
