May be able to assist with the following: testifying in court; providing information on victim rights; providing referrals to counseling and support groups within the community; being a liaison between the prosecutor, law enforcement and other agencies; attending court hearings; providing a safe waiting area free from threats and intimidation; assisting with court preparation; providing assistance in filing compensation applications; assisting with restitution; assisting with emergency services and referrals; assisting in writing victim impact statements; helping with transportation to court; referrals for safe housing; assistance with returning property that is being held as evidence; assistance with registering with the VINE program; assistance with registering with the Office of Victim Services for an offender's release; and assistance with registering with the Ohio Department of Youth Services for a juvenile's release.
