Provides housing counseling and information for first time home buyers especially those with low to moderate income. Offers information about the overall process of buying a home including but not limited to money management, lending, working with real estate agents, appraisals, loan document review, and closing information.
Provides free, comprehensive services for home buyers, homeowners and renters. Counselors educate potential homebuyers on: • Building a household budget • Understanding credit • Determining affordability • Obtaining a mortgage loan • Shopping for a home • How to build equity in your home After purchase, can provide one-on-one and group counseling for new homeowners to cover topics such as mortgage loan terms, property maintenance, home repair, and grant and loan assistance.
Provides HUD-certified Homebuyer Education workshops via Zoom to improve financial literacy to the residents of Lorain County. Offers homebuyers two courses (four hours per class) focused on Financial Literacy (budgeting and saving) and the home ownership process to prepare participants on the homebuying process. Must attend both classes.
Offers an array of services including foreclosure prevention, credit and budget counseling, financial education, and homebuyer education (including down payment assistance).

OHFA offers 30-year fixed rate FHA, VA, USDA-RD and conventional mortgage loans designed especially for homebuyers with low- and moderate-incomes, with generous income and purchase price limits.
Provides a pre-home buyers' course on budgeting, basic banking, credit and debt management, tax tips, the home buying process, asset creation, predatory lending, and financial goal setting. Clients receive a certificate upon completion of the course and are then entitled to one-on-one counseling and advice on specific financial matters.
