With the Cribs For Kids program, MCPH staff promotes safe sleep for infants by providing parents with safe sleep education. Qualified families will receive a free Pack n Play.

Cribs for Kids program offers a free portable crib to families that qualify

Provides household goods, clothing, shoes, cleaning supplies, baby items. Items available depend on what the agency has on hand. Occasionally may have large appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves, and refrigerators.

Offers furniture for individuals in need. Also accepts donations of furniture.

Educates parents and guardians about safe sleep for babies. Families may be eligible for a free portable crib.

Provides a large variety of donated items, including household items, clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene items.

A service that provides portable cribs to eligible families. Safe sleeping education for babies is included with the crib.

Provides used furniture (such as beds, tables, chairs, etc.) as well as household goods (such as drapes, linens, small appliances, and kitchen items). Client may browse and select the items the want. May have large appliances such as stoves and refrigerators - but these are not consistently available. Availability of items may vary due to what has been donated to the agency.

Day Shelter provides tents, sleeping bags and blankets are distributed to those in need.

Women’s Center–Dayton offers abortion alternatives including free pregnancy tests and ultrasound scans to those who qualify. Free and confidential consultations are provided to clients who are pregnant so can understand options: adoption, abortion, or parenting. Program provides a 24 hour helpline, free pregnancy test and assistance, free ultrasound, post-abortion support, information about abortion alternatives and mentoring services. Material assistance: free infant formula and diapers, baby and infant equipment. Quantities and ability to earn material assistance are determined by agency.

J.J.'s provides home furnishings and household items to families leaving the shelter for a home of their own, victims of domestic violence, and victims of flood or fire. Provides items for families with very young children. Specific items are offered depending on the child's age and include: - Crib/mattress, child safety kit, and toddler bed and mattress. - Newborn clothing. - Stroller. - High chair, bibs, plates, utensils, and Sippy cups. - Potty chair, two (2) cases of pull-ups, baby wipes. - Diapers and formula. - Age appropriate enrichment toys.

Assists TANF-eligible families with infants who are aged birth through 3 years old with needed early childhood supplies to assist with their child's nutrition, health, and safety. This program can also assist with paying for one birth certificate for each person in the household, driver's license, and daycare registration, but assistance is limited. Examples of infant and safety items that can be provided include the following: - Bathtubs. - Cribs. - Cabinet locks and drawer locks. - First Aid Kit. - Outlet plugs. - Scalding detector. - Diapers, wipes, and formula. NOTE: This program is provided through a partnership with Summit County Job and Family Services.

Make the homes of income eligible participants more energy efficient. Insulates attics, blows cellulose into side walls, caulks windows and doors, and takes any other practical measures to minimize or stop cold air infiltration. Furnaces are checked and repaired or replaced under this program, as well.

Provides an opportunity to meet with an individual who will work with the person in need to choose clothing and household goods and to discuss other possible needs the person may have. Available clothing may include items for men, women, and children, shoes, coats and accessories. Functional household goods, toiletries, cleaning supplies, blankets, and necessities are also available. Childcare is not available at this time. No children in the center. No baby equipment is available.

Provides new and gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, and small household items to those in need.

Provides eligible families with concrete-safety related support items up to $200. This could include the following: Full size cribs, toddler beds, mattresses, strollers, convertible high-chairs, temporal thermometers, baby monitors, baby gates, childproofing home safety kits, and smoke/carbon monoxide alarms. Includes infant and child safety education on various topics, such as infant safe sleep guidelines, in-home safety recommendations and car seat best-practice training.

A non-profit that provides used or new items to low income (qualify for medicaid or WIC) or under 18 parents from pregnany through 24 months.

Provides energy improvements to assist with lowering utility usage and costs. Services include the following: attic, wall, and basement insulation; heating system repairs or replacements; air-leakage reduction; energy-saving water measures; energy-efficient light bulbs; refrigerators.

Each week, volunteers put together bags of food items, depending on what is available that week. Items include canned goods, Peanut butter, cereal, eggs, pasta, bread, beans, boxed meal preparation kits, some meats and water. They also have toiletries, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and clothing when available.

Parent Infant Center helps parents cope with the day to day challenges of raising a family. The center provides assistance with formula, baby furniture and other material items.

The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program (HEAP Summer Crisis Program), assists eligible applicants with a fan one time every three years to prevent undue health risks during the summer season to those who qualify, from July 1st - September 30 only. Kinship support for caregivers 55 or older providing full time care to a minor child or children living with caregiver whose parent(s) are not in the home. Can provide assistance such as clothing, health maintenance supplies such as diapers, pull ups or wipes, mattress and box spring, other items/services benefitting a kinship caregiver may also be considered.
