Prevention, Retention And Contingency (PRC) | Franklin County Department Of Job And Family Services
PRC provides one-time financial assistance (in a 12 month period) to aid with emergency situations. Program is not meant to serve as an ongoing source of income. Maximum assistance allowed is $2500 for overdue rent or mortgage payments, security deposits, temporary housing, property taxes, home repairs (if the owner;) overdue utility bills (except during Winter Crisis), driver license reinstatement fees, transportation and auto repairs. Applicants can request aid for more than one emergency (up to maximum assistance limit).

Provides aid to families in the form of a voucher to buy items or pay for emergency services related to establishing a household (coming out of homelessness or moving into a new unit) and which cannot be addressed using existing community resources. MAY BE USED FOR: stoves and refrigerators (maximum $200); baby furniture; children's beds/mattresses; general furniture (limited to: couch, love seat, living room chairs, kitchen table, bedroom dresser (up to $125); washer and/or dryer (only if integral to the applicant's employment); and microwave oven (maximum of $400 per item), and children's clothing (up to $150 per child). MAY NOT BE USED FOR: entertainment furniture (such as a TV or a radio), mortgage payments. YEARLY CASH LIMITS: $1,500 total during the calendar year (may be $750 for certain non-custodial parents).

* Shoes: Looking for new or gently used (preferably) tennis shoes, but all donations are greatly appreciated. All sizes for all ages are needed, every pair of shoes donated will be made available free of charge to the community of Huron county during back to school event on Aug 8.
* Donations: Clothing, shoes, and linen accepted during clothing bank hours. No after hours donations accepted. DOES NOT accept pillows, toys, or household items. Donated items must be washed and clean prior to donating.

Provides clothing and accessories to the under-resourced individuals in local and surrounding areas. Through a workforce of volunteers that provide 500+ hours a month, Threads is able to reach hundreds of families monthly for those in need. We allow clients to schedule an appointment once every three months. Appointments are 30 minutes in length and during that time you can take whatever you need within our current inventory limits. After three visits it is requested the client spends time volunteering with us. However, that is not a requirement for service.
