Provides emergency financial assistance to families who meet the eligibility requirements. Employment support includes clothing expenses up to $200 to obtain or retain employment (appropriate work clothes). Job-related expenses up to $500 for tools, safety equipment, short-term education expenses, and job support services. PRC total amount is $2,000.00.

Available tools include drain snakes, lawn and garden equipment, ladders, power hand tools, household tools and miscellaneous hand tools. Tools must be returned in a timely fashion and in the condition that they were borrowed in. Participants become members of the tool-loan library for two years.

The PRC Program is designed to provide benefits and services to needy families and low income employed families to help move out of poverty and become self-sufficient. PRC support is short term and is not intended to meet ongoing needs. If eligible for PRC benefits, a voucher is issued for the service and paid to then vendor providing the service. Voucher services available for car repairs, employment materials (tools/equipment, uniforms/footwear, professional licensure/testing fees), GED fee payment assistance, and utility assistance (primary heat source, electric, water).

Examples of short-term assistance through PRC include: - Shelter and utility assistance - Transportation assistance - Employment Related Supportive Services.

Job and Family Services may have funding available through the PRC program to help clients obtain employment related needs and services such as equipment/tools, work clothes, shoes, gas, bus passes, etc. Assistance through the PRC program can be granted up to $2,000 in a 12-month period when funding allows. The PRC program is not a cash payment and not ongoing financial support.

Tool-lending library offers over 200 different types of hand and power tools to individuals and nonprofit organizations. Tools are loaned for for periods of 1 or 7 days, depending on the tool. Application for membership must be completed before borrowing tools.
