Offers mortgage foreclosure assistance for individuals and families who are in danger of foreclosure or have already been foreclosed upon. Provides counseling for clients who are facing foreclosure due to property tax defaults. Assesses each case and then determines if a staff or volunteer attorney can be assigned to the client.

Provides a home loan guaranty benefit and other housing-related programs to help veterans buy, build, repair, retain, or adapt a home for their own personal occupancy. Veterans Affairs (VA) Home Loans are provided by private lenders, such as banks and mortgage companies. VA guarantees a portion of the loan, enabling the lender to provide more favorable terms to veterans. In most cases, the mortgage is low interest and no down payment or mortgage insurance payments required. Will provide mortgage counseling to participating veterans who are having difficulties with paying their mortgage or who may already be in default. Mortgage counselors will provide information concerning the foreclosure process and what the veteran's rights and responsibilities are in that situation. Will attempt to seek solutions with the lender to help the veteran keep the home and will take complaints from veterans against their mortgage provider.

Provides comprehensive services for current and potential homeowners, including first-time homebuyer programs, financial wellness counseling, down payment assistance, foreclosure prevention counseling.

Provides counseling and information to those in foreclosure or who are facing foreclosure. Will provide information concerning the client's rights and responsibilities and will attempt to work out solutions with lenders in an effort to save the home. Will provide information and counseling to those faced with foreclosure due to past due property taxes.

Provides advice and representation for those being evicted, foreclosed upon, locked out, having difficulty obtaining repairs from a landlord, or who have had utilities terminated. Advice and representation may also be available to those who wish to enforce special rules of subsidized housing, or those seeking assistance with land contract problems and housing discrimination matters. Provides individual and group counseling to those undergoing mortgage difficulties. Will counsel client on how to keep the home if possible. Will attempt to reach settlements and agreements with lenders. Also provides review of loan documents for those who are looking to purchase a home. If needed, will provide credit counseling. Does not provide legal assistance; cannot stop imminent Sheriff's auctions.

The Making Home Affordable Program (MHA) ® is designed to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, stabilize the country's housing market, and improve the nation's economy. Depending on the situation, homeowners can lower their monthly mortgage payments; If homeownership is no longer affordable or desirable, there is a program that can provide a way out, avoiding foreclosure; There are also options for unemployed homeowners and homeowners who owe more than their homes are worth.

Provides foreclosure counseling and financial assistance for those who qualify.

Attempts to prevent mortgage foreclosure by providing counseling for those experiencing the first signs of financial difficulty (fear of missing a mortgage payment, one, two or more missed mortgage payments). Will assess the client's financial situation, offer help with budgeting, set up a plan, and make the initial call to the mortgage holder to determine a workable solution. Does not provide funds to clear up delinquency or foreclosure.

Provides home mortgage loan counseling services to those who are in danger of losing their home. Works with the lender to negotiate and restructure the loan in order to create better terms for the borrower. In some cases, agency will refinance the loan. Goal is to bring the interest rate down to a level where the borrower can make sustainable payments.

Provides information and guidance for people who are unable to make their mortgage payments and are at risk of losing their homes through foreclosure or for people who are already in the foreclosure process.

Provides information and guidance and/or legal representation for people who are unable to make their mortgage payments and may be at risk or in the process of losing their homes through foreclosure.

Assists homeowners who are behind in their mortgage to remain in their homes and regain financial stability. Services vary based on the needs of the individual and/or family, but can include mediation, negotiation with lender, help accessing utility payment assistance programs, and financial counseling.

Offers an array of services including foreclosure prevention, credit and budget counseling, financial education, and homebuyer education (including down payment assistance).
