A one-stop-shop designed to educate Ohioans about the most current housing information and resources HUD has to offer. The updated site has a number of helpful resources particularly important for Ohioans at risk for losing their homes.
Provides counseling services for mortgage delinquency or foreclosure problems. Sessions are held one-on-one or in groups. Agency provides housing counselors certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Service includes developing a plan for reinstatement by lenders, modifying mortgage loan documents, negotiating agreements with lenders, and helping with finding mortgage relief programs.

Considers cases where tax foreclosure was not filed by the County Treasurer; pre-tax foreclosure where foreclosure has been threatened but not filed yet.

Program can help even if you have missed several payments or have received foreclosure documents. Goal is to provide the tools necessary to maintain home ownership by identifying the cause of default or delinquency, and reviewing intervention strategies and budgeting skills.
The Making Home Affordable Program (MHA) ® is designed to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, stabilize the country's housing market, and improve the nation's economy. Depending on the situation, homeowners can lower their monthly mortgage payments; If homeownership is no longer affordable or desirable, there is a program that can provide a way out, avoiding foreclosure; There are also options for unemployed homeowners and homeowners who owe more than their homes are worth.
Provides prepurchase and mortgage default counseling, home equity conversion (reverse mortgage) counseling and information about the HUD rent assistance program for current and prospective purchasers and tenants. Provides information and guidance for people who are unable to make their mortgage payments and are at risk of losing their homes through foreclosure or for people who are already in the foreclosure process.

Provides home mortgage loan counseling services to those who are in danger of losing their home. Works with the lender to negotiate and restructure the loan in order to create better terms for the borrower. In some cases, agency will refinance the loan. Goal is to bring the interest rate down to a level where the borrower can make sustainable payments.
Provides mortgage foreclosure counseling and assists consumers in avoiding predatory loans. Counseling provided by member real estate professionals. Offers information and recommendations so that clients can make appropriate decisions to settle delinquent mortgage payments or to get out of default. In some cases, agency may contact and negotiate with lender on behalf of client in order to resolve the situation. Offers counseling on pre-purchase home counseling, classes to get pre-certified for FHA home purchasing and other housing counseling certificates, budget and credit counseling.
