Free Tax Preparation For Members | Superior Credit Union

Offers tax preparation assistance for federal and state returns (client can either do their taxes themselves with guidance from volunteer, or a volunteer will simply prepare the taxes for them). Does not file local returns. Provides electronic filing (E-File) of returns that offers quick refunds (generally within 7-10 days). Also provides assistance in filling out the Free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). NOTE: The IRS will not process any returns until January 29th, 2018 (tax preparation services may accept returns before this date but will not be able to file them until Jan. 29th). The IRS will not process refunds for returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until mid-February, 2018 (Monday, February 27th, 2018 is the earliest expected date that anyone will receive a tax refund claiming these credits). Otherwise, those who E-file should receive refunds generally within 7-10 days.
