Sustainability Program | Franklin County Public Health

Insures proper handling of solid wastes and hazardous materials including radiative substances, toxic fumes, and explosives. Public Health - Inspection And Remediation - Health Nuisances | Ross County Health District

Provides inspection or education on methods of clean-up regarding a variety of health hazards in the home environment. Topics include the hazards of: high grass over 8", trash & debris, stagnant water, insect infestation, lead, illegal dumping reporting in public and privately owned lots, rodent control, (inspector places poison in animal burrows outside the house), mold (especially regarding black mold that grows on water-soaked cardboard and unpainted wood), as well as inspections and licensing of public establishments in order to enforce existing health codes. Inspects tenants' homes for bedbugs and cites landlords but will not inspect homeowners. NOTE: Homeowners who request assistance with rodent control or home sanitation may be cited for corrective action if the health inspector decides the situation warrants.
