Administers areas of jurisdiction include counterterrorism, counterintelligence, cyber crime, public corruption, civil rights violations, organized crime, white-collar crime, and major thefts/violent crimes, and weapons of mass destruction (all chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive weapon modalities).

Regulates solid waste disposal in area of jurisdiction. Inspects landfills, transfer stations, and waste composting facilities. Investigates complaints regarding landfills in cooperation with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Provides point of contact to report known and suspected incidents of terrorism on US soil. Once terrorism has been reported, this office serves as a conduit to inform state and local officials. Also investigates hazardous materials discharges.

Accepts reports of people who are disposing of hazardous materials, trash, or other items in places other than those legitimately set aside for this purpose. Discarded items may include auto body parts, tires, boats, home appliances, and furniture in a dilapidated or inoperable condition.

Provides and manages recycling drop-off sites and assists residents in finding alternative recycling resources. Operates recycling programs in area schools. Offers recycling and community clean-up events and hosts special events for electronic, pharmaceutical, and hazardous household waste collection, as well as used tire collection and document shredding. Investigates reports of illegal dumping, littering, and burning. Develops environmentally safe solid waste management plans to achieve Ohio's goals for waste reduction, recycling, and solid waste management in the region. Helps communities and businesses implement cost-effective and environmentally safe solid waste management practices. DOES NOT RECYCLE TELEVISIONS BUT GIVES REFERRALS TO AREA FOR-PROFITS THAT WILL RECYCLE THEM FOR A FEE.

Provides crime prevention and safety programs to Centerville residents in the areas of: bunco/fraud protection, property identification, child abuse prevention, juvenile delinquency prevention, commercial and residential security evaluations, child sexual assault prevention, shoplifting prevention, halloween safety, school safety, bicycle safety, vacation security checks, neighborhood watch programs, traffic safety, and child passenger safety.

Provides Environmental Programs to enhance the community. Environmental Enforcement provides two full-time sheriff's deputies dedicated to enforcing litter laws and investigating illegal dumping activity.
