Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) is responsible for administering federal and state Child Support program requirements. Madison County CSEA strives to encourage family stability through accessible, comprehensive, and effective programs. CSEA will establish paternity, establish support orders, enforce court/administrative orders and assist with centralized collection of child support.
Assists with housing and employment discrimination; provides referrals for job and student education grants; employment outreach; shelter for the homeless; and other short-term programs.

Protects the rights of employees to join or not join a union and to engage in collective bargaining. The agency conducts representation elections in which employees vote whether or not they wish to be represented by a union. Investigates and adjudicates unfair labor practices against employees, whether by employers or unions. Types of complaints against employers include, but are not limited to: allegations of unlawful threats, interrogations, and disciplinary actions such as reprimands, suspensions, and discharges based on union activity; promises of benefits if the union kept out; and, in the context of collective bargaining relationships, refusals to provide information, refusals to bargain, and withdrawals of recognition. Allegations against unions include a failure to represent an employee or failure to bargain in good faith.
Provides information and education via brochures, speakers, training, conferences and individual consultation that enables parents, caregivers, and professionals on autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities to interact effectively with children and the systems that serve them. Provides assistance to those with child support enforcement or establishment matters. Advice and representation may be available in custody matters when the child's primary caretaker is threatened with loss of custody to a person who presents an imminent or long-term threat to the safety or well-being of the child. Advice on divorce matters is available and representation may also be available in very limited circumstances, generally involving past domestic violence in the household. Cooperates with local private attorneys who will file simple, uncontested divorces for a fee. Advice and/or assistance with "pro se" (D-I-Y) court filings is also available on a variety of other family issues including visitation, contempt of previous court orders, and adoption defense.
