Criminal Record Sealing Clinic | Legal Aid Of Southeast And Central Ohio (LASCO)

This clinic will help individuals that have housing applications turned down and/or trouble finding a job due to their criminal records. If you have been arrested, had your case dismissed or have a conviction record, the laws for sealing records have changed and this clinic will help you understand what you can do to have your records sealed. Volunteer attorneys will be available to screen you for eligibility and assist with filling out forms.

Partnering with Summit County Job and Family Services to provide one-on-one case management assistance with cash, food, or medical assistance/benefits. Case managers can assist with turning in documents, applying or re-applying for assistance, reporting case changes, and other case/eligibility questions. - At Helen Arnold, a child care case manager will also be on site to apply for or renew child care services, answer case or eligibility questions, scan documents and verifications, and more.

Works to protect the rights of the homeless: monitors to assure that municipalities do not unfairly target the homeless or broadly enforce laws which would be harmful to the homeless; assists homeless persons who may have been the victims of hate crimes; coordinates information exchange regarding the rights of the homeless. The agency has experts on homeless voting available to assist with registration, get out the vote or in-person identification issues. Holds forums at shelters and drop-in centers to uncover problems, and responds with advocacy, letter-writing, and media attention to such problems.
