Provides assistance to those with child support enforcement or establishment matters. Advice and representation may be available in custody matters when the child's primary caretaker is threatened with loss of custody to a person who presents an imminent or long-term threat to the safety or well-being of the child. Advice on divorce matters is available and representation may also be available in very limited circumstances, generally involving past domestic violence in the household. Cooperates with local private attorneys who will file simple, uncontested divorces for a fee. Advice and/or assistance with "pro se" (D-I-Y) court filings is also available on a variety of other family issues including visitation, contempt of previous court orders, and adoption defense.

The CSEA provides payment record update services to parties of a child support case. Individuals making a payment on a child support order have several options including income source wage withholding, in person, by mail, and online. Please contact CSEA for more information on all available options. Parents registered with the customer service portal (www.jfs.ohio.gov/ocs) can print their own payment history, check payment status, and more.

Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) is responsible for administering federal and state Child Support program requirements. Madison County CSEA strives to encourage family stability through accessible, comprehensive, and effective programs. CSEA will establish paternity, establish support orders, enforce court/administrative orders and assist with centralized collection of child support.

The Mercer County Child Support Enforcement Agency provides child support establishment, collection of support and modification of support.

Domestic relations divisions have jurisdiction over all proceedings involving divorce or dissolution of marriages, annulment, legal separation, spousal support and allocation of parental rights and responsibilities for the care of children.

The CSEA initiates prosecutions for nonpayment of support, both civil and criminal, in Franklin County and in other jurisdictions.

Providing civil legal assistance for various issues including: bankruptcy, child support/visitation, debt collections, disability benefits, divorce, and driver's license suspensions.

Also offers a mediation process by which those who are in arrears with their child support order may make payment arrangements and (in some cases) speed up the process for re-establishing their driving privileges.

CSEA services DO NOT include: - Child custody and visitation issues - Income tax exemptions - Legal representation of individuals.

Provides two workshops: Child support Navigation and Parenthood Development. CHILD SUPPORT NAVIGATION: workshops inform families on how to navigate the child support system. Provides information and practical application on self-managing the fundamentals of their support orders from modification to termination. PARENTHOOD DEVELOPMENT: provides fathers, mothers and other parenting figures (aunts, uncles, grandparents, adult mentors) with information and support in their quest to enhance their parenting abilities. The group sessions include the sharing of researched materials on the subjects of: ages and stages of childhood development, family communications, male/female relations and punishment versus discipline.
