Provides assistance to ensure that support is paid and received by establishing and enforcing child support orders, establishing paternity, administering paternity tests, and facilitating payments.

The CSEA provides legally enforceable orders specifying the financial obligations of parents. The agency establishes child support orders, sets support motions, makes administrative support decisions and registers foreign orders.

Establishes and enforces orders for child support. Locates absent parents, establishes paternity, and reviews and recommends adjustments of child support orders.

Works for the children of Williams County to ensure they receive the financial and medical support they are legally entitled to and deserve. CSEA works with both parents to establish support orders and maintain support payments.

Arranges transportation for Medicaid clients to and from Medicaid-covered services.

Includes an assessment of the situation, recommendations, and help following up with Child Support Enforcement, Juvenile Court, and Domestic Relations Court (agency does not legally represent clients). Will explain and assist with filling out forms the client may have received from the courts.

Any parent or caretaker needing to locate a parent, establish a support order, modify an order or collect upon an order can cotact the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) unit at JFS.

Provides enforcement of child support orders. Services include: location of absent parents, establishment or modification of child support and medical support, enforcement of existing child support orders, establishment of paternity, timely collection and disbursement of payments, interstate collection of child support, and the withholding of wages and unearned income for the purpose of child support. Also offers a mediation process by which those who are in arrears with their child support order may make payment arrangements and (in some cases) speed up the process for re-establishing their driving privileges.

Individuals making a payment on a child support order have several options including income source wage withholding, in person, by mail, and online. Please contact CSEA for more information on all available options. Parents registered with the customer service portal (www.jfs.ohio.gov/ocs) can print their own payment history, check payment status, and more.

Called support order review or an administrative adjustment review (AAR), the support order modification process is the act of re-examining a support order to bring the order into compliance with the Ohio Child Support Guideline Worksheet. The monthly obligation recommended by the CSEA may increase, decrease, or remain the same compared to the current order. Either party may object to the recommendation if they disagree with the recalculated order.

Collects and disburses child support monies and court ordered alimony. Assists in enforcing court orders for child support and alimony whether in county, in state, or out of state. Assists in establishing paternities and/or support orders.
