Life Essentials guardianship of person services include providing guardians for adults deemed mentally incompetent by the Probate Court.

Program matches volunteers with nursing home residents who have cognitive deficits and/or mental disabilities and need a court-appointed guardian of the person. The program recruits, trains, and supports the volunteers. Volunteers assist their person with personal, medical and living arrangement decisions. Volunteers become court-appointed "guardian of the person" only. They are not appointed as "guardian of the estate" and so do not handle finances.

Providing adult guardians, guardians are appointed by the Probate Courts of Butler and Warren Counties to make decisions for ward relating to health care, safety and living arrangements.
