Provides fire prevention and protection services for the residents of North Randall Village. Also provides smoke detectors to eligible residents, and carbon monoxide testing.

Identifies sources of lead poisoning and hazards through testing and refers the results to other agencies (Ohio Department of Health (http://www.odh.ohio.gov), Doctor's office, Mansfield Metropolitan Housing, etc) Promotes childhood lead poisoning prevention to parents and homeowners.

Offers free kits to test tap water for lead for City of Akron water customers. Provides free water analysis of kit samples.

Monitors and approves the installation of new or replacement sewage systems and private water systems. Maintains a public list of registered septage haulers and contractors who install treatment systems or "clean" sewage tanks. Sanitarians inspect private water hauling equipment and test drinking water for harmful bacteria. Sanitarians also cooperate with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency in the review of the installation of commercial water supply systems.

Provides a collection of non-traditional library items, including: craft kits, bicycles, games, electronics, health related items, kitchenware, sewing machines, musical instruments, puzzles, outdoor activity items, STEM kits, telescopes, tools, adventure passes, memory kits, and the seed library.
