Also provides lock boxes to older adults and persons with disabilities; box contains a house key so that emergency personnel do not have to break the door down when responding to a call. Provides special signs so that emergency personnel may see addresses better.

Providing Power of Parents alcohol abuse prevention education program, for youth, middles school and high school students at area schools

In-home safety visit with free smoke alarms or batteries installed as needed.

Provides instruction and certification for individuals who want to develop the knowledge and skills that will enable them to respond effectively to aquatic emergencies.

Provides size-appropriate seats for children that buckle into passenger vehicles. Seats are fitted to the child and installed by a technician. Offers front-facing, high-backed seats as well as booster seats for older children. Distribution includes safety education and installation of the seat in vehicle.

Provides child car seat installations/inspections, conducted by National Child Passenger Safety Board-certified technicians.

Includes licensing and inspecting restaurants to help protect the community from food borne illnesses; inspecting schools to help create healthy learning environments;inspecting retail food operations, licensing and inspecting public pools and spas, manufactured home parks, campgrounds, and tattoo establishments; septic system consultations, permits and inspections; water consultations and testing; permits and inspections for plumbing systems and private wells;lead poisoning prevention, rabies quarantine; and solid waste inspection of disposal facilities.

Offers computer classes on how to use the Internet and the library's catalog, book sales, summer reading clubs, and baby-sitting workshops for youth. Programs vary with season and location.

Provides a small, secure, metal box which is installed on a resident's door or close to the door and contains a key to the home. Gives firefighters and paramedics faster access to residents who might experience an emergency when they are unable to get to the door.

Provides the Bathing Beach monitoring program, goal of the program is to assure a safe and healthy aquatic recreational environment by protecting the bathing public from risks of contracting waterborne diseases from exposure to contaminated waters or public health exposure to toxins found in (HAB) Harmful Algal Blooms

Serves the Village of Adamsville and Adams, Highland, Madison, Monroe and Salem Townships.

Manages activities which include fire safety education, firefighting, fire investigation, maintaining firefighting equipment and trained firefighters, and enforcing fire codes which protect lives and property from fires and explosions. Also provides EMS services to respond to injuries and severe medical conditions.
