Provides a safety town program that teaches safety information such as pedestrian, bicycle and fire prevention safety for young children.

Provides a variety of occupational safety and health training classes to groups and organizations. Training classes can be customized to accommodate needs. Periodically offers CPR and basic First-Aid classes. Provides remedial driving classes for both adults and juveniles (which can be used to reinstate a driver's license or remove up to 2 points from a driver's license).

Offers general crime prevention, substance abuse, and bicycle safety information and education. Officers will speak to community groups about safety and other police issues. Will perform vacation security checks.

Provides a two-week course in the summer to teach traffic, pedestrian, and bike safety to children who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall.

Provides all fire and EMS services for the City of Brooklyn. Also investigates concerns in the city about carbon monoxide. Offers blood pressure screening. Provides smoke detectors to any city residents who need them. Available for presentations on fire prevention, and provides written material on this subject. Will assist with checking child passenger seats, to be sure they are installed properly.

Offers fire protection, emergency medical services, and fire prevention education for Jefferson Township. Speaks to local groups, businesses and schools about fire prevention. Performs child car seat inspections by appointment.

Provides middle school, high school and college-level students with prevention and intervention tools in order to deal with issues of mental illness, drug use, underage drinking, impaired driving, traffic safety, and other destructive decisions.

Provides child safety seats and booster seats to eligible low income families

Federally funded program designed to help income-eligible Ohioans with their winter heating bills. The program runs from July 1 to March 31.

Provides classes about the installation and use of child car seats and booster seats. Offers free car seats and booster seats at the end of the program for income eligible class participants. Provides car seat inspections to check and see if child car seats and booster seats to ensure safe and secure installation.

Provides two kits designed to introduce safety around moving vehicles in parking lots and to intervene in wandering behavior typical of autistic children. Kit usually includes door and window alarms, an ID bracelet, visual stop signs and a guide on what to do about wandering behavior. Parking lot safety kit includes parent/caregiver safety guide and vehicle magnet to remind children how to be safe in parking lots.

Child seat safety Inspections are performed by appointment, generally between 3pm and 11pm, but other times may be available. Information provided during the inspections includes safety seat recalls, proper installation, appropriate seats for a child's age, and other helpful information.

Provides no-cost car seats through the Ohio Department of Health's "Ohio Buckles Buckeyes" program. Has convertible seats for ages 6 months up to 5 years old, and booster seats for ages 5 to 8 years old. NO INFANT CAR SEATS. Provides inspections of child car seats for recall, proper fit for the child and proper installation in the car.
