Also provides up to $75 worth of diapers and up to $30 in organic baby food coupons.

Low income car seat program available to residents in all 88 counties of Ohio provides child safety seats and booster seats to eligible, low income families. Through the coordinated efforts of local and regional CPS coordinators, the OBB Program distributes child safety seats and booster seats and provides CPS education. The OBB Program has distributed more than 17,000 child safety seats and booster seats to low income families in Ohio over the past five years.

The goals of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Division are to eliminate health disparities, improve birth outcomes, and improve the health status of Licking County’s women, infants, children, youth and families. MCH Priorities: - Decreasing childhood obesity, reducing food insecurity, and supporting breastfeeding; - Decreasing infant mortality by ensuring infants have a safe sleep environment and car safety seats; - Increasing parenting skills, promoting early childhood development and school readiness; - Providing referrals to safety net services assure that the health needs of women and children are met; - Addressing social determinants of health; - Free transportation to medical appointments - LCHD has partnered with Uber to help women get a free ride to their next medical appointment. Checking of seats is by appointment only. Safety seats are intended primarily for distribution to eligible low-income families whose child has outgrown their infant-only car seat.

Provides assistance with paying for treatment, relocation, and education due to infestation of pest(s) including but not limited to bed bugs, fleas, rodents, roaches. Maximum amount of assistance will vary depending on what is needed.

Offers full pediatric office visits for well and sick care. Provide an array of services for children including physical exams, immunizations, vision, hearing testing, developmental screening, autism screening, nutrition screening, dental assessment, referral information, social services assesments. Also offer car seats when available.

Provides free car seats, and car seat instruction to families who could not otherwise afford protective passenger gear. Special K.A.R.S provides education to physicians, childcare professionals, and families who require the use of a special needs car seat. Free special needs care seats and education are available.

MCHD provides child car seats/booster seats to eligible Mercer County parents and caregivers.
