A van from the James Cancer Center mobile unit visits Perry County 6-8 times a year to assist women in need of breast screenings. Women age 40 or older, women under the age of 40 with a first degree relative who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and women under the age of 40 who have an area of concern are eligible for screenings. Women who fit eligibility criteria receive a free mammogram.

Provides Certified Nurse Midwives to offer pregnancy, post-partum and miscarriage care, with the goal of improving overall health. Midwives attend births at Fairview Hospital to provide Birth and Doula support. Midwives also provide: pelvic exams, PAP tests, breast exams and scheduling of routine mammograms, family planning including birth control and emergency contraception, treatment of other concerns like yeast infections, sexually transmitted diseases, irregular periods, PMS, sexual health, menopause care and support for women dealing with depression and partner/domestic violence, a nurse advice line, 24 hour provider coverage, breastfeeding and lactation support and consultation, free pregnancy tests, and same day and evening appointments.

Provide Pack N Play portable cribs and Safe Sleep Survival Kits to families and caregivers that are unable to provide a safe sleep environment due to financial hardship. Survival Kit contains a sheet for the Pack N Play, a sleep sack for the infant, a bedtime storybook and educational materials for the parents. Family must come to Board of Health office to pick up Pack N Play and receive instruction on proper assembly and use before taking Pack N Play home.
