Provides services that include establishing paternity in cases of out-of-wedlock births, establishing and enforcing child support and medical insurance orders, locating absent parents and their assets, conducting administrative reviews of child support orders, and limited enforcement of spousal support (alimony) orders.

Provides the establishment of paternity, location of non-custodial parents, establishment of child and medical support orders, modification of child support orders, enforcement of existing child support or medical support orders, collection of and disbursement of payments. Does not deal directly with issues of visitation or custody, offer or dispense legal advice, or modify spousal support.

The CSEA assists with establishing paternity when there is not an existing final and enforceable determination of paternity. A support order cannot be issued until paternity has been established.

The Mercer County Child Support Enforcement Agency services include maternity and paternity establishment.

Will also evaluate cases of posthumous paternity where decedent had a work history. Guardianship where ward's access to healthcare or benefits or education is affected; guardianship where applicant is an adult ward and seeking to prevent the establishment or termination of a guardianship.

Paternity Acknowledgement is a legal document that lets unmarried parents name the natural father and establish paternity for the child. Both parents sign the affidavit, in the presence of a public notary and completing the form is voluntary. Only the natural parents should sign the affidavit.

Provides financial, Medicaid and Social Service benefits to eligible Trumbull County residents who meet the guidelines established by State and Federal regulations. All services are based on available funding and include, but are not limited to: SNAP/Food Assistance; TANF Cash Assistance; Healthchek/Pregnancy Related Services; Medicaid; Child Care; Limited Transportation Services; Child Support Services; Adult Protective Services; Prevention, Retention & Contingency (PRC) program services (i.e., utility shut-off aid; job retention/gas cards, transportation etc.); WIOA/OhioMeansJobs Workforce Development Services; Employment and Training Services for unemployed/underemployed individuals, etc. Also assists with referrals to other agencies that may be of service to Trumbull County Residents.
