OSHIIP's purpose is to provide Ohio Medicare beneficiaries, and those who help them, with free, objective health insurance information and other helpful services. This assistance is available through a statewide toll-free phone number, local volunteers and sites, a speakers bureau, and free literature. All OSHIIP services are FREE. The program is funded by a Federal grant and the State of Ohio, and administered by the Department of Insurance. OSHIIP also provides a number of free publications from Ohio and the U.S. government. Volunteer opportunities are available to all willing to help.
Help in understanding and dealing with Medicare is available through the Clinic. Medicare consultations are led by OSHIIP certified counselors.

Supportive services division for Trumbull’s retired and elderly population provides social work and counseling, prescription assistance and Medicaid/Medicare counsel, emergency assistance program, and free income tax assistance through AARP during the months of February through April each year.
