Provides information and counseling regarding MyCare Ohio, a managed care program for Ohioans who receive both Medicaid and Medicare benefits. MyCare Ohio includes all of the services that are covered in the following home and community-based Medicaid waivers: PASSPORT, Choices, Assisted Living, Ohio Home Care, and Transitions Carve-out.

Provides free community and professional education on Medicare and MyCare Ohio. Also provides individual consultation and advocacy to assist older adults and their caregivers with concerns regarding Medicare, like prescription drug assistance and help with potental cases of fraud. Services are provided in person and on the phone.

OSHIIP's purpose is to provide Ohio Medicare beneficiaries, and those who help them, with free, objective health insurance information and other helpful services. This assistance is available through a statewide toll-free phone number, local volunteers and sites, a speakers bureau, and free literature. All OSHIIP services are FREE. The program is funded by a Federal grant and the State of Ohio, and administered by the Department of Insurance. OSHIIP also provides a number of free publications from Ohio and the U.S. government. Volunteer opportunities are available to all willing to help.
