There are many types of Medicaid, including: Medicaid for aged (65 or over), blind, or disabled people, Healthy Start/Healthy Families Medicaid, for income eligible pregnant women, children and families, Nursing Home Medicaid, with special rules for people in nursing homes, Waiver Medicaid, with in-home nursing assistance and other services to elderly or disabled people who would otherwise be in a nursing home. Medicaid benefits require an annual renewal, which will impact the new enrollees for the first time this year. Medicaid recipients may contact JFS for information on thier annual renewal.
Provides Medicaid, a state and federally funded health care coverage plan for low-income and medically vulnerable people who meet financial requirements.
Provide Pack N Play portable cribs and Safe Sleep Survival Kits to families and caregivers that are unable to provide a safe sleep environment due to financial hardship. Survival Kit contains a sheet for the Pack N Play, a sleep sack for the infant, a bedtime storybook and educational materials for the parents. Family must come to Board of Health office to pick up Pack N Play and receive instruction on proper assembly and use before taking Pack N Play home.

Provides time-limited cash benefits and supportive services to low-income, eligible families. Supportive services include child care vouchers, transportation allowances, job search and placement assistance, food stamps (SNAP/Ohio Direction Card) and health care benefits (Medicaid HMO for families) - details of these services are listed in separate service groups. Recipients are required to participate in a combination of developmental activities (parenting classes, life skills training, counseling) and/or work/training activities to remain in the program.

Programs to help families achieve self-sufficiency, provides eligible applicants with food stamps and Medicaid services. Ohio utilizes the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Program to administer food stamp distribution. Eligible families receive an electronic card with a dollar credit equal to the maximum monthly benefits based on family income, family size, and other eligibility criteria. Families/individuals use the EBT card at participating stores. The family/individual is able to add credit to the card each month for basic food items to support the household.
Helps people eligible for Medicare who have limited income and assets get help paying the cost of Medicare premiums, deductibles or coinsurance.
