Programs to help families achieve self-sufficiency. Public Assistance provides eligible applicants with food stamps and Medicaid services, including Long Term Care options. Ohio utilizes the Direction Card to administer food stamp distribution. Eligible families receive an electronic card with a dollar credit equal to the maximum monthly benefits based on family income, family size, and other eligibility criteria. Families/individuals use the Direction card at participating stores. The family/individual is able to add credit to the card each month for basic food items to support the household.
