Provides vouchers to assist with past due house/apartment/mobile home lot rent payments, mortgage payment (will help with first month's rent but not security deposits - $1,000 maximum per 12 month period); utility bill payment assistance (including gas, electric, bulk fuel water - $500 maximum per 12 month period). May also assist with the purchase or repair of major appliances ($750 maximum per calendar year). May assist with the purchase of bed frame, box springs, mattress, cribs and child beds ($500 maximum in 12 month period). Provides up to $2000 in moving expenses in certain cases (once per lifetime). In some cases may be able to help with home repair services (generally, only enough to cover a small repair). May consider assisting with other housing related needs at the discretion of the agency. Chore Program | Allen County Council On Aging

Provides a small chore service. Will provide minor repairs (painting, replacing door knobs, railings, fixing minor plumbing issues, etc.). Also helps with yard chores (grass cutting, yard raking), general household maintenance (changing furnace filters and light bulbs, cleaning spouting, caulking windows, etc.) and heavy cleaning chores (carpet shampooing, washing windows, curtains, garages, walls, etc.). Proper ventilation of the structure to prevent condensation of moisture shall be considered a necessary condition of repair. Funds may also be used for health, and safety work including but not limited to installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, in accordance with City housing standards.

Home Repairs | Lake-Geauga Habitat For Humanity

Assists low to moderate income homeowners with paying for repairs and rehabilitation on their homes. Depending on eligibility and the availability of funding, agency may be able to offer this program at no cost to the homeowner (usually if they are age 65 or older or a veteran). In some instances, a zero-interest loan with an affordable repayment schedule may be offered as well. Examples of the types of work that the program can help with are: painting, siding, roofing, doors, steps, wheelchair ramps, sub floors, carpeting, etc. Does not help with foundation. Most work is provided by volunteers, however some work may be provided by contractors. This is not an emergency service; the process can take 12-24 months (however, smaller jobs may be completed sooner).
