Prevention program designed to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors related to alcohol, tobacco and drugs as well as getting along peacefully with others. Five classroom lessons cover goal setting, decision making, communicating, bonding and managing emotions. Students also participate in a community service project. The program runs from September to June.

Prepared Parents Workshop helps expectant parents in their teens and early 20’s become confident and prepared for parenthood. The Birth Circle is able to offer the multi-session program spread over multiple months at no cost to participants, thanks to generous support from the Athens Foundation. The intention of Prepared Parents Workshop is to share positive parenting skills and foster self-confidence, as well as help young parents build a long-term support network with each other and with more experienced parents in the community. Each day of the Workshop focuses on a particular topic: healthy pregnancy and relationships, birth and infant care, breastfeeding, and positive parenting. Along with discussion of these topics, there are hands-on activities facilitated by former teen moms and time for the parents to ask questions, discuss the topics and get to know each other. Participation includes lunch, essential baby items, transportation and childcare each day. (Note that due to COVID, some changes to the typical schedule and services may be made).

Provides a series of classes designed to help parents work with their children of any age who are enrolled in the school district to improve academic performance and to improve community quality of life. Topics may include child development, preparation for standardized testing, helping effectively with homework, preparing for college, basic child development, healthy eating and cooking and more. Topics change each session. Activities for children are provided as well as dinner when classes are offered in the evenings.

Provides a program for fathers that offers structured classes that focus on parenting skills, communication, conflict resolution, and how to be a responsible family member. On occasion, offers activities for families of participants.

Incredible Years Preschool Basic Program is a program for parents of children ages 3-6 years. The program is offered once a week for two-hours and provided by trained facilitators. The Incredible Years are evidence-based, proven effective programs and have been applied in more than twenty countries. Program goals include: improve parent-child interactions; improve parental functioning; prevent, reduce and treat early onset conduct behaviors and emotional problems; promote child social competence and academic readiness and problem solving. The following is offered free to assist families in attendance: - Family meal prior to each class - Child Care - Transportation if necessary.
