Serves the City of Shelby, as well as Sharon, Jackson, Cass, Plymouth, Butler (except Sections 35-36-31 and 32) and Bloominggrove Townships in Richland County. Court Divisions: Traffic, Cirminal, Civil, and Small Claims.

Provides traffic court both civil and criminal; original jurisdiction over any civil action within service area up to $3,000; total jurisdiction over the commission of misdemeanors within its service area; jurisdiction over felonies up to preliminary hearing stage; small claims court (citizen-filed claims under $2,000); and performance of marriages.

Civil marriage ceremonies are conducted by judges. Witnesses are not required. Couples may bring family, friends, and children to the wedding.

Presides over: Mayor's office, municipally owned and operated water, sewer, and electric services; building and zoning permits; and Mayor's Court. Performs civil marriages in village hall or in the surrounding area.

Presides over the Village of Shiloh: Mayor's Office, Fiscal Department, Utility Department, Building and Ground Maintenance, and Street Department.

Presides over the Village of Bellville: Mayor's office, Water and Waste Water Department, Parks, Building and Ground Maintenance, Street Department, Police Department and Village Income Tax Department. Does civil marriages in Village Hall or within surrounding area.

Court handles traffic, misdemeanor criminal and civil cases and initial court appearances and preliminary hearings on felony cases. Judges conduct Specialized Dockets in drug and alcohol cases, domestic violence cases, mental health cases and veterans cases. Performs civil marriage ceremonies on the last Wednesday of each month pending schedule availability. Small claims court exists to assist laypersons (non-attorneys) in resolving minor disputes involving amounts less than $6000. Jury trials are not allowed and cases are heard by a Magistrate. Probation is assigned through the Municipal Court System.
