Provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Lorain County residents. Master Gardener Volunteers provide such educational services to their communities as answering gardening questions from the public; conducting plant clinics; gardening activities with children, senior citizens, or disabled persons; beautifying the community; developing community or demonstration gardens; and other horticultural activities.

Loans the Community Pride Trailer (CPT) for urban beautification projects on public lands by City of Akron residents and community volunteer groups. The trailer is stocked with landscaping tools and cleanup supplies to assist volunteers with removing debris and clearing public lands in Akron's neighborhoods. Staff will deliver and pick-up the trailer to and from the designated location.

Volunteers help the Licking Park District provide opportunities for others enjoy the outdoors. Park Volunteers have painted restrooms, helped run horse shows, directed event parking, picked up trash, painted over graffiti, helped with paddlesports, mowed meadows, maintained plantings around signs, and much more. Your volunteer work can be for a day, over several days, and even over longer periods of time if you like We appreciate the hard work of our volunteers who have helped us. We recognize all of our volunteers each January at our Volunteer Recognition Dinner. There are many ways in which you can volunteer with the Licking Park District.
Offers community service hours to court-ordered, service-sentenced offenders.
Provides a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Opportunities to volunteer include: indoor and outdoor public programs about hiking, astronomy, wildlife and exploration; programs with youth and in schools; special events such as Sap’s-a-Risin’!, Nature & Arts Fest and The Great Geauga County Fair; kayak and canoe programs; patrolling The Maple Highlands Trail by bike; photography of people enjoying the parks; and important natural resource management work and “citizen science." Some opportunities are seasonal; others require more time. Training is available for most opportunities.
