The Harm Reduction Clinic is held every Wednesday and offers a one for one syringe exchange up to 30 syringes, naloxone distribution and training, Hepatitis A/B immunizations, Opioid Navigator and peer counseling services. Additionally, community naloxone distributions will occur at the following: New Marshfield Community Center- 3rd Monday of every month, 1:30pm-2:30pm Walmart (E State Street)- 1st, 2nd, and 4th Monday of every month, 1:30-2:30 pm.

Opiates can include fentanyl, heroin, methadone, Percocet, Vicodin, and Oxycontin. Also has an opioid rescue box/opioid overdose emergency kit outside on the building that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Fentanyl Test Strips are offered at Licking Memorial Urgent Care locations in Newark, Pataskala and Granville. Individuals may visit an Urgent Care and ask for the strips at the front desk. The test strips are provided with a contact number for Shepherd Hill, the treatment center associated with Licking Memorial Hospital. Shepherd Hill offers a variety of services for individuals who are struggling with drug addiction.

The Licking County Health Department is offering opioid overdose prevention training session and naloxone (Narcan) kits for individuals interested. There is a limited supply. The purpose of the training is first to educate opioid users, their family members or their friends on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a drug overdose. Participants will also learn how to call emergency medical services, perform rescue breathing and administer naloxone (Narcan) nasally. When administered during an overdose, naloxone blocks the effects of opioids on the brain and quickly restores breathing. It has no potential for abuse.

Clients also learn how to identify the physical signs of an opioid overdose. Distributes naloxone (Narcan) medication to individuals at risk of opioid/opiate overdose and to their friends and family in an effort to reduce fatal overdoses. Provides training and education on the safe and proper use of Narcan in overdose prevention. Narcan is an antidote to opioid/opiate overdoses including Heroin and prescription painkillers (Percocet, OxyContin, Oxycodone, Vicodin, Morphine, Fentanyl and so forth). Also offers Fentanyl test strips that show whether fentanyl, carfentanil, or other related dangerous chemicals are mixed in with street drugs.

Provides boxes with items such as Narcan that can reverse an opiate overdose. Kit is prominently marked and installed wherever the requestor thinks is best to be found by someone in need. Kits include instructions for use. Agency can also provide training for those who might need to use the kit.

Provides harm reduction services for individuals who inject drugs. Syringe services are offered once per week in person. Harm reduction supplies are available 24 hours/7 days a week by vending machine outside of rear entrance.
